Albert's POV
"You're late boss," Henry said as he handed me a cup of coffee. "You said you were almost there an hour ago. You don't live that far from here."
I took the coffee from him and lied. "Well you know traffic."
"Sure," he answered before taking a sip of his coffee. "Where's Sebastian? His coffee is getting cold."
I looked back. "I don't know. He said he would be right behind me."
"You must have gotten distracted and came off his route."
"You know him," I answered taking another sip of my coffee.
"I see the rumours are true."
I raised my eyebrows before looking at him.
He pointed to my ring. "I see you tied the knot with someone. Marino's daughter right?"
I chugged down the hot coffee.
"Yeah, it's just business. I don't want to talk about her."
He raised his hands in surrender. "Alright."
"Why did you call me here, Henry?" I asked so that we changed the subject.
Henry was in charge down here at the harbour. He made sure all the shipments
were good and kept things under control.
"Someone broke into container A." When he said that, I immediately glared at him.
"Don't worry, boss. They only took a few ammo and a gun."
"What happened to the securities? You guys are supposed to be guarding this place 24/7."
I don't take breaches lightly. Matter of fact, I don't take anything lightly. There is no room for error in my world.
You slip up one day then you're gone the next.
"There were no signs of forced entry so my guess is that it was one of our own."
If it's one thing I hate more than weak people it is a traitor.
"Find them."
"Yes, sir!"
Seb strolled in and picked up his cold coffee. He took a sip and quickly spit it out.
"Jeez Henry, you could've at least kept it warm."
I rolled my eyes. "He wouldn't need to if you had just came straight here."
"I came straight here."
"So why the hell did you take so long?"
"I was making sure your wife got something to eat. Remember her?" He asked and I turned to Henry.
"Henry, find whoever it was and bring him to me alive. He will be killed publicly. I can't make people think it's ok to steal from me."
He nodded. "Yes, boss," he said before walking away.
I turned to Sebastian. "What's your problem, Seb?"
"My problem is that you went full psycho
on her last night. Did you even apologise to her? She doesn't know you like that to just think it's normal. You didn't see the state of fear you left her in last night."
"Good, make sure she fears me so she can shut up and leave me alone," I said as I started walking to my car.
"Why'd you even marry her in the first place? She didn't do anything to you. She doesn't deserve it," he talked as he followed behind me.
"It was apart of Marino's deal."
"Oh come on Albert, you know damn well you could've just taken the deeds and left him dry."
I shrugged. "I know but then I realized it would be a win for me anyways. The rumours would finally stop and I could get a kid or two out of her."
"You're still in love with Francesca!" He blurted out.
That wasn't even apart of our conversation.
"Shut up. I don't want to hear anything about that woman," I quickly shut him down.
"Fine," he sighed. "Are you sure you and Greta will have those kids?"
"It all depends on her. If she listens then maybe I'll tolerate her and give her a kid or two. If not, I'll kill her and get an actual mafia wife who was born for this world."
"Jeez Albert, that's Marino's kid. He does good business with you. Don't cause a mess."
"He won't know I did it. I'll make it look like Romano did it. Who knows he might even give me his son to help get revenge."
The look on Sebastian's face was pure disapproval. He shook his head. "She doesn't deserve that."
"And what? You think you know her after a few conversations? I gave her options now it's just her job to pick."
His phone started ringing and I looked at the caller ID. It was Caterina.
I smiled. "Your owner is calling you."
He glared at me.
"I told you to stop calling her that!" He said before answering. "Hello, my love? Yes...I'm coming right now."
He turned around and started walking to his car.
"You sure she isn't your owner? You run to her as soon as she calls," I teased him and he stuck up his middle finger to me until he reached his car and drove away.
He had messed up really bad and he is in the doghouse. Now he is trying to get on her good side again.
I stepped into my Porsche and made my way to the highway to get back home.
When I thought about home, I thought about her.
I rubbed my forehead as I continued to drive. Everytime I think about her I get a headache.
I'm beginning to think that all this headache and arguing is not worth it just so I could get ownership of a few properties.
At the time the deal seemed fine. It was time for me to settle down and make sure I have blood to give this empire that I am building to.
What he didn't tell me was how much of a pain in the ass his daughter would be.
I should've interrogated her when we met.
I thought my judgement was good though. She seemed innocent and looked like she would keep quiet after a good scolding but boy was I wrong.
A part from this horrific personality of hers, she was pretty I guess. She kept herself good looking at all times. Every time I looked at her she was well composed.
Her style was classy. She never wore anything too revealing and her hair was always well kept.
When I saw her this morning, she looked good. Who the hell looks good when they wake up?
I pretended not to see her tits printing out from that pajamas she decided to wear last night.
If only she wasn't so irritating I would've probably slept with her.
If she keeps that up I might kill her before we get the chance. I stopped the car as I waited for the guard to open the gates.
When he did, I drove in until I reached the entrance.
I came out and Marty went to park it with the other cars.
I made my way to the bedroom. I was going back to sleep.
Once Henry finds that son of a bitch who took my stuff, I'll kill him and then probably take another nap. Luca was standing at his post.
He was one of my best men down at the harbour so I was a bit disappointed when I had to change his post but I needed someone I can trust to keep her safe when I'm not there.
Luca took a bullet for me two years ago and up to this day I'm not sure if anyone else who do the same.
That is why I put Luca to be her bodyguard because I knew without a doubt that he would die before she does. Although he's never said a word to me before. I showed him my fist and he bumped it as he kept looking forward.
I then opened the door and there she was on the floor crying. I rolled my eyes.
Her nose was red and her eyes were puffy. Scratch what I said about her earlier
When she saw me, she wiped her eyes and stood up. She was so weak. It disgusted me.
I sighed as I closed the door behind me and prepared myself to hear her complain.
