For the blooming to be successful one had to feed the spear heart with their self-created understanding of the spear Dao.
This understanding had to be an original creation that did not already exist in the Spear Dao. If it already existed, one would fail the blooming and death would be their reward. This was the reason as to why the blooming was considered one of the most dangerous stages in weapon Dao cultivation.
