The room went silent. The old man who had possessed an amiable appearance all along switched into a completely different person. He looked at Ran Lan as though she were the dregs of the earth.
Ran Lan stood from her chair and stared back at the old man. She knew that if she were to allow this old man to go out and "discuss" the matter, treachery would abound.
"If you are not willing to make the deal, let us part ways before things become troublesome." Ran Lan picked up the storage rings that carried the items.
The old man looked like he was about to blow off his top. His bold head seemed to release steam.
Ran Lan made for the door as calmly as she could. She knew that she was in trouble. She had expected something like this to happen but the chances of this kind of outcome were so little that she had hoped for a favorable outcome.
She now realized her folly.
