Chapter 16 - 16. Mid-Bone Forging Realm

On the second day since young Miss Huang Biren had gone to the party, she was expected to return to the Huang mansion but she did not. People thought that she may have decided to stay at the palace for one more day so no alarms went off.

The only person who thought differently was the white wolf who knew that the young miss did not change her plans so casually. To make taking action even more difficult, the patriarch had also gone out of the capital and he was not expected to return for at least a week.

The wolf was worried about the human, but it tried to push this worry down as much as possible so that it could start its cultivation.

That night, the wolf for the first time tried out the cultivation technique, and this time, it was not disappointed like the previous times when it was left on the brink of death by its self-made cultivation techniques.

This time, it was able to gather the surrounding world qi and absorb it into its body without any issues. It then began circulating the qi in its body through its meridians before directing the qi into its source core which was located near its belly button. It then directed the cultivated world qi into its bones.

When the purified qi entered its source core, the wolf felt as though it had transcended. Its being was rejuvenated raising its talent for cultivation and also increasing its cultivation. All its senses became heightened giving the wolf a feeling of seeing and knowing all. Its bones became harder and the wolf even felt as though they had become unbreakable.

This was all due to a single circulation of the technique and yet the increase in cultivation was far beyond what the wolf had expected.

Throughout the night, the wolf cultivated as though there was no tomorrow. Whenever its cultivation made even a small increase, it felt like all its dreams were close at hand.

When the sun finally came out, the white wolf opened its eyes and in them, one could see excitement mixed with the flames of vengeance.

The wolf had created its technique with inspiration from human cultivation techniques and so, some similarities could not be avoided.

The wolf had entered the bone-forging realm, the first realm of human cultivation. The wolf was no longer on the cultivation path of the beasts, the wolf hated the humans but it had to admit that their cultivation path seemed better than that of the beasts, at least the levels it had seen so far. This was not to say that the white wolf had not found any issues with the human cultivation path. When humans usually cultivate, they absorb origin qi from the world. Origin qi was just a small component of world qi. Humans cultivate using origin qi out of all the qi that makes up world qi not because it is the most powerful but because it is one of the easiest to control and it does not harm the human body during cultivation. As for the demonic beasts, they absorbed world qi without choosing any of its components, they simply used the world qi itself to cultivate. The white wolf speculated that a demonic beast in a certain realm of cultivation is far more powerful compared to a human in the equivalent cultivation realm. With this speculation, the white wolf created its technique to be able to use world qi for cultivation while still following the human principles of cultivation which seemed to be more thought out and organized for maximum growth in power. The white wolf did not know what the consequences of this untested technique that wanted to pervert the ways of cultivation would have on its body and mind but it did not care for that, it was still too focused on vengeance to analyze things carefully. Had it analyzed things carefully, it would have realized that of all the cultivators throughout time, it would not have been the first to try merging the beast and human cultivation paths and at this moment, it would have wondered why it had not been done.

Although early bone forging was not much of an increase in cultivation, one had to remember that it was achieved in a single night.

In the days that followed, the wolf cultivated day and night while taking shot breaks to check whether the young miss had returned. Two more days went by and Huang Biren was nowhere to be seen.

At this point, the white wolf had reached mid-bone forging making its bones as hard as iron. The only thing the wolf worried about was the young miss and this worry for a human female was making it feel as though it was betraying its heart of vengeance. To calm its mind, the wolf convinced itself that it was only worried for the girl because the girl was her meal ticket in the Huang mansion, but still, the worry did not go away completely.
