Chapter 7 - 7.Survival Is Endurance

The captured demonic beasts were promptly dragged into the blue building and thrown into even more secure cages in the basement. At this point, the money-seeking bandits had already fled the city as if the further away they got from the beasts, the less accurate their memories of their wild night became.

This magnificent city was the royal capital of the Tinding Kingdom. This kingdom was nothing special, just a single domain in the sea of Dutchies, kingdoms, and empires on the northern continent.

The kingdom's national power and wealth were average on the continent but it was a behemoth in the minds of low-level beasts.

Like many of the other powers sharing a border with the Endless forest, the Tinding Kingdom captured and enslaved many beasts which were sold to other kingdoms, empires, and dutchies as tamed beasts used for transport, defence, invasions of neighbouring forces, and even as items used in alchemy to concoct pills such as the Blood essence purification pill.

All these uses of demonic beasts made the beasts a hot item for which traders never ran out of market. The trade of demonic beasts greatly contributed to the economic development of many kingdoms and empires.

The human cultivators who were able to enslave demonic beasts using force or through special techniques were greatly respected in human society and given the title, 'beast tamer'.

The demonic beasts were left in cages for three whole weeks and during this time, they were fed very well and even given specialized pills to increase their sizes, especially muscle mass.

Some of the demonic beasts became visibly happier at their newly found good luck, but the white wolf became even more scared of the vicious human heart. From the conversations of the humans in charge of feeding and fattening the beasts, the white wolf learned that they were being prepared to be auctioned off to restaurants, alchemy shops, treasure refiners and the lucky ones would be sold to the ilustrous beast tamers.

When the white wolf became aware of this information, his heart shuddered, and worry for its mother and sister reached a new peak. It knew that the only way for its pack to survive was to be bought by beast tamers, preferably together but it knew that this was wishful thinking. All it could hope for was to get its pack to survive as slaves for the humans.Atleast in this way, they deaths would not come so soon.

Through stoking the anger of its mother and sister towards the humans, the white wolf was able to get its mother and sister to swallow as many of the alchemy pills as possible so that their bodies would become larger thus reducing the chances of them being bought by the restaurants and alchemy shops. He understood that the beast tamers were the ones most in need of large powerful looking demonic beasts .

To increase the chances of its pack being bought by a beast tamer, the white wolf also told its pack to become as docile as possible towards the humans. It also taught its pack the basic commands it expected the humans to give to their tamed beast. This was all to increase their chances.

The reason the white wolf expected its pack to outgrow the rest of the beasts was because the other beasts did not like swallowing the pills since they smelled badly to them and the pain that followed was not to be forgotten. The humans were practically force-feeding the beasts these pills. The white wolf came up with a scheme where it convinced the other beasts to find ways to regurgitate the pills in exchange for the portion of the meat given to the wolf pack. Through this scheme, the pack had more than enough pills.

The pain was great but its mother and sister pulled through due to the hopes of revenge given by the white wolf.

When the pack learned that the white wolf had a plan, they chose to trust it since it had always been the smartest in the pack.

The other demonic beasts looked on as the three pack members suffered through the constant agonizing pain. To the other beasts, it looked as though the wolf pack had gone crazy due to the fear of captivity and what their captors had done to them during the journey.

As for the white wolf, it had always been extremely small in size and knew that even the pills could not change this in only three weeks and so it had come up with a different plan for itself.Still,it swallowed a few pills just in case while ensuring that its mother and sister got all the pills they needed .
