Chapter 197.
Tang San was surprised but followed Ning Fengzhi without hesitation. Wang Feng and the others departed first. Xiao Wu initially hesitated, wanting to wait for Tang San, but he insisted she go with Wang Feng's group.
Wang Feng, however, was thoughtful.
Though he didn't recall the original book's plot clearly, he suspected Ning Fengzhi's discussion with Tang San was related to his life experiences. After all, Ning Fengzhi had seen Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer during their last encounter and knew about his true identity.
Recalling his encounter with Qian Renxue half a year ago in the Star Dou Forest, Wang Feng pondered over Tang San's past. Though he possessed some knowledge about it, he chose not to disclose anything, believing it best for Tang San to unfold his story naturally.
"Seems like the plot I remember has taken a bit of a turn," Wang Feng concluded silently.
Wang Feng couldn't help but express his emotions, "The seven individuals from Blue Sunshine Academy should have been associated with the Illusion Soul Saint in my memory. He seemed capable of creating realistic illusions? I never expected such a complete change... I wonder how many more altered teams I'll encounter next?"
In the original story, the Heaven Dou City had several more prominent members, such as the Armored Elephant Clan and the Four Elements Academy. Wang Feng wondered if there would be any change. However, even if there were changes, Wang Feng remained unfazed.
"Wang Feng, when the Grandmaster mentioned training me individually, he wanted you to come too!" Ning Rongrong approached Wang Feng, brimming with excitement.
"Training individually?" Wang Feng pondered for a moment, intrigued.
"Yeah... I think I know what Grandmaster wants to teach us," Ning Rongrong mused, "You'll have to thank me later for it!"
Wang Feng smiled and nodded. He had a hunch about what the training entailed, and he suspected it could be beneficial for him as well.
In Heaven Dou City, inside a teahouse, Tang San was slightly taken aback. Ning Fengzhi had brought him to meet His Highness, the Crown Prince of the Heaven Dou Empire, who also happened to be Ning Fengzhi's disciple, Xue Qinghe.
During the meeting, Tang San also received some news about his father, Tang Hao.
Though the details were still hazy, it appeared that his father had a conflict with the Soul Hall over something. If his mother was indeed killed due to this dispute, then wouldn't the Soul Hall be his enemy also? Tang San's mind raced with heavy speculation, but he maintained his composure and engaged in conversation with Ning Fengzhi and the intriguing Prince.
"By the way, brother Tang, I've heard the teacher mention your friend named Wang Feng, who seems quite remarkable. You've been close since childhood. Could you share something about him?" Xue Qinghe suddenly inquired with a smile after a few cups of tea.
"I didn't expect His Royal Highness to take an interest in brother Feng as well," Tang San remarked, momentarily surprised. "Well, there's not much to say. Feng'ge and I did grow up together. Uncle Ning asked me about him before, and I told him everything I knew. What did the Prince wants to know about him?"
Xue Qinghe smiled and continued, "I heard that your friend disappeared for a while about half a year ago and went into seclusion. Do you know where he went into seclusion?"
Tang San shook his head, "He went to obtain his fourth soul ring... I believe he journeyed to the Star Dou Great Forest. Feng'ge rarely stayed at the academy for training, he preferred combat and often trained alone outside. It's not really a secret."
Xue Qinghe nodded slightly but refrained from further questioning. After conversing for a while longer, Tang San took his leave directly.
"Teacher, I never imagined that Clear Sky Sect, which has remained silent for many years, would produce such an exceptional disciple," Xue Qinghe remarked, watching Tang San's departure with a smile. "It's truly remarkable. And as for Wang Feng... at just 14 years old, he's already at level 45."
As he spoke, a peculiar gleam flickered in Xue Qinghe's eyes.
"Truly astonishing."
"The son of Haotian Douluo is naturally extraordinary," Ning Fengzhi agreed, nodding. "Moreover, many of his creations contain remarkable wisdom. These insights are beyond the capacity of a normal individual. They are too subtle and incredible. They seem more like the culmination of collective wisdom. It's possible that there are experts guiding him from behind. Furthermore, achieving such heights with the supposedly mediocre martial soul like Blue Silver Grass is truly extraordinary."
Ning Fengzhi was referring to Tang San's hidden weapons.
Since collaborating with Tang San, he had discreetly attempted to assemble those hidden weapons, only to find them too intricate and impossible to replicate. Seeking the assistance of master craftsmen, they concluded that such devices hadn't been researched in decades or even centuries.
"And as for Wang Feng..." Ning Fengzhi trailed off, unable to find adequate words to describe him.
Xue Qinghe smiled and changed the subject, "By the way, teacher, did you come across any other news about Jiu Yikai's emergence?"
Ning Fengzhi shook his head.
"That's peculiar," Xue Qinghe mused. "I've heard that this individual enrolled in the Purple Star Academy about half a year ago but seldom made appearances. Only recently, with the commencement of the competition, did he represent the academy. His origins remain shrouded in mystery... I've been unable to unearth much. Even the academy's Dean, Fei Lun, is reticent and I've hit a dead end."
"It's still too early. Give it a few more days, and Jiu Yikai will inevitably reveal more of its strength. Then we can speculate based on that," Ning Fengzhi remarked casually.
Xue Qinghe nodded slightly, but inwardly pondered, "Jiu Yikai... Feng Yuxiu. What's the connection between them?"
As Tang San returned to the woods behind the academy, he spotted Grandmaster, Ning Rongrong, and Wang Feng.
"Little San, perfect timing," Grandmaster called out, gesturing for Tang San to join them. "I have something to discuss with you."
Tang San was intrigued as he approached, eager to hear what Grandmaster had to say.
"Rongrong, as members of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, the special training I have in mind for the three of you is related to your sect's techniques," the master addressed Ning Rongrong.
"Master, are you referring to... Heart Separation Control?" Ning Rongrong, quick-witted as ever, asked with a smile.
Grandmaster nodded.
"What's Heart Separation Control?" Tang San inquired, curious.
Wang Feng refrained from asking, as he had a suspicion in his mind.
"It's a specialized skill that helps in utilizing spirit power to control simultaneous things," Ning Rongrong explained, stealing a glance at Wang Feng before continuing, "This skill is unique to our Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda Sect. Grandmaster, hailing from the Blue Tyrant Lightning Dragon Clan, knows about this technique. Essentially, Heart Separation Control is the ability to manipulate your soul power with your mind to do many things simultaneously."
Wang Feng smiled inwardly, likening Heart Separation Control to CPU multi-threading. The manipulation of soul power had always been a topic of study among soul masters, particularly for auxiliary soul masters.
"Although the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda martial soul is formidable, this skill is what makes it even more important and dangerous in the battlefield," the master emphasized. "The number of soul masters that an auxiliary soul masters can boost is limited, and the more there is, the greater the consumption of soul power of the auxiliary soul masters. Take Rongrong, for instance. With her current soul power, she can't sustain all her skill for long."
"Well... maybe just a few seconds before," Ning Rongrong admitted sheepishly.
"Xiaofeng's first form of Golden Lotus, the [Deification] soul ability, while potent, cannot be utilized by multiple individuals simultaneously. Doing so would diminish its effectiveness," Grandmaster continued.
Wang Feng nodded in agreement. Indeed, as the [Deification] soul ability grew stronger, so did it's soul power consumption. While his own soul power was exceptional and rather abundant, it remained impractical to apply [Deification] soul abilities to multiple individuals at once.
In reality, [Deified] soul abilities possessed numerous functions. If these could be separated, it would significantly conserve soul power.
For instance, if Wang Feng only desires the lightning paralysis attack effect from the [Deification] ability, its soul power consumption would be significantly reduced upon usage. Alternatively, one could opt for other effects like immunity to toxins, soul power coercion, or pain perception, or simply seek a fourfold increase in all attributes. By breaking down these functions and utilizing them individually, the consumption of soul power would be greatly diminished.
In its full state, [Deification] soul ability resembles a powerful force. However, if one wishes to split and apply different effects to different individuals, the Heart Separation Control technique of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda Sect can help achieve it.
