Chapter 166.

After they left. Tang San said with a smile, "Brother Feng, you're shameless."

Wang Feng smiled in response, "Sectmaster Ning's approach is quite forceful. If he truly believed that we were bullying Rongrong just now, he might have immediately had Senior Bone Douluo intervene and teach me a lesson. Even if I used my injury as an excuse, he would have healed me and then instructed Bone Douluo to teach me a lesson."

Ning Rongrong felt puzzled for a moment, then realization dawned upon him.

"It's surprising that he was dismissed with just a few shameless words of praise from you." Tang San remarked, full of admiration.

"I was actually anticipating Senior Bone Douluo's intervention," Wang Feng confessed. "Not every soul master can stand against a Title Douluo. However, I'm currently not in peak condition."

Despite reaching level forty, Wang Feng knew that even if he was to engage Senior Bone Douluo in battle and even trigger Meteoric Tears, it wouldn't advance his level. He didn't want to endure a defeat for no gain. Wang Feng resolved to wait until he reached level forty-one.

"Hahaha, Fengzhi, this is the first time I've seen you suffer. You've been played by this kid from beginning to end. He's sharp too, how did he notice us?" remarked Ning Fengzhi as they walked outside the square with Bone Douluo.

Bone Douluo chuckled heartily, "No wonder the Old Sword is fixated on taking revenge on this kid. When I last visited Rongrong, he mentioned having some regrets... this kid is quite intriguing. It's only fitting for the Old Sword to be impressed. I didn't expect even you, Fengzhi, to get played by this kid, hahaha."

Ning Fengzhi recalled his recent encounters with a shiver. It wasn't until they were outside that he spoke again, "No wonder this kid has captivated Rongrong."

It was their first official clash, and Ning Fengzhi had suffered a defeat.

"The way that girl Rongrong is head over heels for him... it's not as simple as it seems. This kid is exceptional and Rongrong stands no chance against him," Bone Douluo remarked with a smile. "Even if Rongrong fancies him, she can't control him."

Ning Fengzhi nodded in agreement, realizing Wang Feng's formidable nature and potential. If even he struggled, how could Ning Rongrong stand a chance?

"Yet, they're still young," Ning Fengzhi smiled, "Matters of the heart, no matter how skilled you are, are unpredictable. This kid is truly remarkable, far better than Tang San. Even if he doesn't join our Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda Sect in the future, his bond with Rongrong is enough. He can cultivate this miraculous medicine for her. If he had no interest in Rongrong, why would he do that? Can you really let this opportunity slip by?" Bone Douluo was momentarily taken aback.

Bone Douluo, being single for decades, couldn't understand the matter of the heart, it was beyond his realm of understanding.

"In many instances, the involved parties remain oblivious until the very end." Ning Fengzhi remarked with a slight smile. "Let's take you and Uncle Chen, for example. Despite your ongoing conflicts... there's a level of understanding between you at crucial moments that surpasses anyone else's. But who would know? To outsiders, you appear as enemies."

Bone Douluo fell silent, struck by the truth in Ning Fengzhi's words.

"So," Ning Fengzhi continued, glancing back at the room where Ning Rongrong emerged with a smile, "Such feelings only truly reveal themselves at certain pivotal moments. This kid is astute, talented and is good to Rongrong. The secret of the miraculous medicine is known only to the three of us. I can't bring myself to reveal such secrets to anyon else as it might even endanger Rongrong."

"In the future, the continuation of my Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda Sect... perhaps, it will depend on him..." Ning Fengzhi muttered to himself.

Bone Douluo's gaze shifted uneasily. "Fengzhi, what do you mean?"

"A storm is brewing." Ning Fengzhi replied, shaking his head. He didn't elaborate further but began to walk out of the school slowly with Bone Douluo.

"However, Uncle Bone, we still need to find an opportunity to challenge this kid... otherwise, Rong Rong might truly get overwhelmed by him. Let's seek another chance next time."

Bone Douluo remained speechless.

Ning Rongrong was overjoyed. Wang Feng didn't blame her and her father didn't trouble Wang Feng. This was truly wonderful!

Indeed, Wang Feng had no desire to blame the girl excessively. He had conversed with Ning Fengzhi and understood his character. If Ning Fengzhi had been that type of person, Wang Feng would have departed from the academy early.

Furthermore, Wang Feng believed that if Ning Fengzhi was wise, he would help keep this secret to himself. These thoughts lingered in Wang Feng's mind.

Having reached level 40 and with Liu Erlong and Dai Mubai still absent, Wang Feng decided to venture out to hunt soul beasts on his own. Instead of choosing the Sunset Forest near Heaven Dou City, he opted for the Star Dou Great Forest, which was located a considerable distance from Heaven Dou Imperial City.

The day before Wang Feng's departure, Grandmaster gazed at him and asked, "Xiao Feng, do you truly wish to go alone? Shouldn't you wait a bit longer? Flander and Erlong will be returning soon. And why head to the Star Dou Great Forest? It's quite far from Heaven Dou Imperial City."

"Because I'm more familiar with that area." Wang Feng pondered for a moment before replying. "I know many soul beasts there."

He intended to revisit the Star Dou Great Forest to check on things. Otherwise, Wang Feng wouldn't have disregarded proximity and chosen the Sunset Forest, which was no less than the Star Dou Great Forest.

"Then take care," Grandmaster advised after a brief pause. "Also, about what you discussed with me, I've found an academy that can grant you entry into the Continental Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament as Jiu Yikai. However, remember not to disclose your identity easily. We'll discuss it in detail upon your return."

Wang Feng nodded. There was still half a year left before the competition. The others would take some time to reach level 40 as well.

Wang Feng speculated that by then, he and the other six should be ready to join Liu Erlong and Flander in hunting soul beasts in the Sunset Forest.

However, he didn't want to waste so much time.

Naturally, he converted the soul ring he had obtained earlier into soul power.

After bidding farewell to his Grandmaster and informing Tang San and the others, Wang Feng left Heaven Dou City and headed towards the more distant Star Dou Great Forest.

It was after Wang Feng's departure that something occurred in Heaven Dou City.

In a luxurious chamber, a masked man pondered, "The kid has left Heaven Dou City? He's not diligently practicing in the academy. What could he be doing outside the city?"

The masked man furrowed his brow slightly as he observed the direction of Wang Feng's departure. "Star Dou Great Forest? Interesting... If he's not heading to the Sunset Forest to hunt soul beasts after his breakthrough, where is he going?"

The masked man found it amusing. "Very well, let's make some arrangements. We'll go to the Star Dou Great Forest as well."

"Yes, Your Highness."

When Wang Feng returned to the Star Dou Great Forest, several days had passed.

"There's still a bit of longing." Wang Feng thought to himself. "I wonder if I'll have the chance to encounter Er Ming again this time? I truly wish to spar with him."

At this moment, the Star Dou Great Forest remained verdant and vibrant, its air refreshing as Wang Feng took a deep breath, feeling invigorated.

Upon arriving in the Star Dou Great Forest, Wang Feng continued to don his disguise.

"By the way, it's time to try Chaos Green Lotus fourth form," Wang Feng whispered to himself.

Seeking a tranquil spot, Wang Feng settled down, his three soul rings suddenly aglow.

A Green Lotus quietly blossomed in his palm.

Soul power surged endlessly from Wang Feng's body toward the Chaos Green Lotus within.

"There are four lotus seeds within Chaos Green Lotus and three have already been activated. This fourth seed is the most mature, full and largest of them all... I wonder what it will bloom into?" Wang Feng pondered, his gaze fixed on Chaos Green Lotus martial soul.

As soul power poured in, the Chaos Green Lotus began to emit a luminous blue light, illuminating every leaf, petal, seed, and rhizome with clarity.

However, the fourth lotus seed didn't bloom as Wang Feng had anticipated. It seemed his soul power wasn't sufficient to coax the largest lotus seed into bloom.

Nevertheless, all the soul power converged into the rhizome.

Slowly, the rhizome of Chaos Green Lotus underwent a transformation, eventually detaching from it as a brilliant light erupted into the air.

"Rhizome... Could this be?" Wang Feng exclaimed, his eyes fixed on the rhizome, feeling slightly startled.

As soul power continued to pour in, the stem gradually darkened, eventually forming a simple spear. The spear's tip felt chilling, its blade seemingly blunt. Even the spear's body bore several ancient inscriptions, dark and mysterious.

Upon the spear's appearance, Wang Feng sensed a fierce aura emanating from it, as if he had plunged into an abyss of demons, surrounded by the clamor of demonic roars and a murderous aura akin to a sea of corpse, difficult to resist.

"God Killing Spear?" Wang Feng gasped. He hadn't expected Chaos Green Lotus fourth form to manifest as such a fierce and demonic weapon.

Recalling the name, Wang Feng remembered this as a legendary artifact from myths and legends of his previous world, capable of slaying even Gods and Buddhas!

Despite his hesitation, Wang Feng seized the spear by his hand. It stood about the same height as him, its body and blade appearing primitive and unadorned, as if untouched by any forge, seemingly unmade by anyone and existing from the time immemorial.

Yet, as Wang Feng grasped it, a tremor resonated within his soul, and the surrounding scenery suddenly changed in his eyes.

Wang Feng blinked in surprise.

Instead of the Star Dou Great Forest, he found himself in a blood-red magical prison, suspended in mid-air. Below him, various grotesque humanoid creatures of different sizes lurked. Towering and ferocious, they possessed two heads and four arms each, with eyes covering their whole bodies and mouths on their bellies.

Each exuded an immense aura, surpassing even the Titled Douluo Wang Feng had encountered.

"Aren't these the primordial demon gods I have read about in my previous life?" Wang Feng murmured inwardly, astonished by the sight.

This legend of the God Killing Spear derives from the demon ancestor Luo Hu, a figure capable of wielding immense power—the ancestor of all demons.

"ROARRRR!"

A terrifying demon roar reverberated, seemingly directed at Wang Feng.

In an instant, Wang Feng's soul was shaken by a powerful mental shock, and the surrounding illusions swiftly shattered.

"All illusion?!" Wang Feng muttered, his face slightly pale as he surveyed the Star Dou Great Forest around him. "It must be the residual aura of the spear... However, this sharp spear was just transformed, so it shouldn't be related to Demon Ancestor Luo Hu in any way."

Despite his uncertainty, Wang Feng continued to hold the spear, feeling his spirit being jolted with every moment. The fierce, bloodthirsty demonic energy threatened to overwhelm even his soul.

Thankfully, Wang Feng's soul had been tempered by the Red Lotus Karmic Fire, rendering it pure and resilient enough to withstand the spear's malevolent influence.

"Thank goodness I tempered my body and soul with the Red Lotus Karmic Fire," Wang Feng remarked with a pale face. "Otherwise, I'd be done for!"

Unaware that his fourth form had transformed into a spear, Wang Feng struggled to contain the shock to his spirit and soul. Even his body felt chilled by the weapon's presence.

Fortunately, Wang Feng remained oblivious to the fact that a faint black mist enveloped his body, giving him a dark and chilling malevolent aura, particularly his pale red eyes—a sight that might even induce fainting in timid soul masters.
