Chapter 87 - Quick Match

As Emily stood in the arena, she glanced towards her friends who were energetically cheering for her. The excitement in the air was palpable, and the anticipation of witnessing a B-rank power in action hung over her friends.

Ahiro couldn't help but think about the rank of the girl who was standing in the arena waving her hands cheerily at her friends. She was once a shy girl who could barely talk one sentence in front of them but slowly she began to open up more and more and her company was always pleasant to have.

But Melvin's words about the Rank of Emily once again reminded him of how the ranks were a crucial determinant of an individual's potential. Ahiro himself was currently evaluated as a D rank, indicating that with his full effort, he could reach that level of power. Meanwhile, Melvin and Sia were both classified as C rank, showcasing a higher potential. Even John, with a D+ rank, held a slightly elevated standing.

However, as Ahiro pondered these evaluations, he couldn't help but acknowledge the significant gap between them and Emily's B-rank status. Ranks, in essence, represented the ceiling of one's awakened abilities, and Emily's position in the B-rank indicated a level of potential that surpassed their own.

Ahiro's current power level based on AGS score, is an F+ rank, Meanwhile. Melvin had once shared that he was a D-rank currently based on his AGS scores. Ahiro was once again reminded of how much he needed to catch up to his friend and how much he was away to even reach his evaluated potential.

He knew he was weak, he understood that he stood no chance against many students in his class due to sheer incompatibility between their power sets like what happened in the case of Melvin who was overpowered due to the princess's ability to perfectly counter Melvin's awakened ability. He thought to himself that he was lucky that he had faced some of the weaker opponents but he thought that would only make him aim lower and if he wanted to reach his full potential he would have to aim much high.

He remembered what he had studied about the ranking system, The system that describes both the current power level of a person and their peak potential. Starting from F rank, individuals are akin to beginners in their awakened journey, comparable to regular humans, who had dedicated their lives to training. The ones who have the potential of F rank could ever hope to overpower a few dozen normal people or squads of trained soldiers.

An E rank, while possessing potential greater than a group of well-trained individuals, remained vulnerable to the advancements of modern weaponry. These both ranks are often looked down upon.

And in Valorius Academy no single Awkaned is evaluated to have a potential lesser than D-Rank. A D-Rank potential is where the individual is finally able to resist cold weapons and most of the weapons with their powers. They still are affected by warheads but are akin to a battalion of soldiers.

The highest rank Ahiro had currently seen was C-rank till now, a C-rank transcended into a league where their strength surpassed that of a whole Divison. Their capabilities extended to causing significant destruction, marking a notable milestone in the hierarchy of awakened abilities.

However, from what he knew till now there is a huge shift from C to B rank. Those attaining B rank status possessed abilities capable of wreaking havoc on a city-wide scale. Their influence extended beyond the battlefield; they were closely monitored and held in high regard, often occupying influential positions within society. B ranks were considered the pivotal force capable of tipping the balance of power in any given scenario.

The individuals who reached their full potential as B ranks gained the ability to manipulate their awakened powers at a grand scale. Their prowess became instrumental in shaping the fate of cities, and they were viewed as the formidable guardians of society. The magnitude of power that a B-rank wielded elevated them to a position of significance, making them not just warriors but strategic assets capable of steering the course of battles and conflicts.

Seeing Ahiro deep in thought Sia placed a hand on his shoulder and said "She may be high rank and now that we know doesn't change anything, its true that rank does determine the potential we may reach one day but today we are just students so do not think so deeply about Ranks and all just do your best. and at this moment your obligation is to cheer for her."

Listning to Sia's words made his heart light, it's true he shouldn't be focusing on the Ranks and what they can do rather he should think about what he can do. Thus pushing aside all thought he started to do what he could and should do at this moment which was cheering for his friend.

The match of the seeker department had a total of 3 students participating, only these 4 students out of all the seeker department students had a fighting type awakened ability, thus they were all asked to fight in one arena and in a single match the victor of seeker department would be announced.

The referee signalled the beginning of the match, and the tension in the air reached its peak. Before anyone could make a move, Emily surprised them all. With a swift bow, she shouted "Sorry".

In the next moment, she put her hands together, and in an instant, a colossal tornado materialized on the stage. The girl with the fireball was caught off guard, her fiery orb extinguished as she was blown away by the force of the winds.

The other participant, armed with a rock spear, struggled against the violent gusts for a few brief moments stabbing her spear in the stage to gain a foothold before succumbing to the overwhelming force of the tornado. The match concluded almost as quickly as it had begun, leaving Emily as the uncontested victor.

The crowd erupted into a mix of applause and gasps, impressed by the unexpected efficiency with which Emily had secured her victory. Her friends in the stands cheered louder than anyone, their pride in their geek friend evident in their enthusiastic support.
