Chapter 72 - Sia vs Lune

As the whistle rang, signalling the commencement of the next round of matches, the contenders for the upcoming duels emerged into the designated Arenas. The crowd erupted into cheers, their enthusiasm building for the matches that were about to unfold. Arena 3 and 4 were allocated to the Striker Department, while Arena 1 and 2 were reserved for the Explorer Department.

Ahiro, strategically positioning himself to have a clear view of Arena 4 for Sia's upcoming match, found his attention momentarily drawn to Arena 1. A familiar face, June, appeared on the stage, a sight that caught Ahiro by surprise. It had been a while since he had seen her, and he couldn't help but wonder about the skills and how much she had improved.

June's opponent was Anna. As the announcement to prepare their abilities resonated through the arena, June swiftly unsheathed a wooden sword. The atmosphere around her cooled as she covered the blade with a layer of ice, transforming it into an ice sword that glimmered with frozen brilliance.

On the other hand, Anna retrieved some seeds and, with a fluid motion, scattered them across the ground of the arena. In a matter of seconds, the seeds began to react, and countless vines sprouted from the ground, weaving a network of greenery that seemed ready to respond to Anna's command.

The stage was set for the duel between June and Anna. June, with her <>, possessed the power to craft various forms from ice, while Anna's <> granted her dominion over certain kinds of plant life.

As the announcement to begin the match echoed through the arena, the atmosphere brimmed with anticipation.

The first move belonged to June. With a swift motion, she lunged forward, her ice sword gleaming as she executed precise strikes. Anna, quick to react, manipulated the vines to weave a protective barrier, attempting to ward off June's advances.

Anna was also not one to falter, she quickly regained her composure and controlled the wines to strike at June. Anna had already scattered seeds throughout the arena thus the attack came from all sides.

But June didn't lose her composer, with her sword she started cutting those vines. Her every move was naturally flowing, and it seemed like she was dancing amidst the vines. But Anna was still not willing to lose, she controlled the vines to grow back and instructed them to attack again. Anna showcased her own skill in manoeuvring the vines. The plant life responded to her commands, creating a dynamic battlefield that shifted with each gesture.

But June had enough, <> As she said that the temperature around the arena suddenly chilled down, and June again started facing vines, as the vines came in contact with her sword they didn't get sliced like the last time but froe and broke apart with no way of growing back.

With each step she increased her pace and broke down every vine that stood between her and Anna and with a last slash pointed her sword at Anna's neck ending the battle.

Ahiro was in awe of the sword moves that June used and how she used her own ability in perfect sync showed how much she had improved since he had first seen her ability in Dojo. he was still thinking about the details of the match when John along with Melvin and Emily came to his seat.

"What got you in such deep thought Ahiro" Melvin asked.

"Oh nothing just saw a good match, come have a seat" Ahiro replied.

The group of friends sat on seats and waited for the rest of the match to complete for the next round of matches to start where Sia would participate. Ahiro began to speak about the match he saw and asked about the next match.

"Sia has her next match against Lune, she is going to be a tough opponent to beat," John said.

"Why is that" Emily asked concerned.

"Well she has a contracting ability to Sia's, but we need to watch the match to actually know, as I even I don't even know how much she has progressed in the past 3 weeks. " John said.

The whistle rang and the competitors began to come from the stands, soon the contenders took place and then as the "prepare your ability" announcement rang Ahiro's group's attention focused on Arena 4.

Sia began to manifest her extraordinary ability, <>. A subtle radiance enveloped her, transforming her once brown hair into a cascade of golden strands that shimmered in the arena's light. Gauntlets adorned her hands, a testament to the impending display of her combat prowess. The very essence of sunlight seemed to infuse her being, promising an imminent surge in her physical capabilities.

The golden glow accentuated her every move, an indication that she had harnessed the power of sunlight to augment her already formidable physical prowess. Her preferred combat style was straightforward and direct — to pummel her opponents into submission with the sheer force of her fists.

On the opposing side stood Lune, an adept wielder of <>, a long-range ability that allowed her to craft lethal arrows made entirely of water. Lune's strategy centred around swift, precise strikes, aiming to incapacitate her opponents before they could even mount a counterattack. Her style was one of finesse and speed, exploiting the advantage of distance.

The contrast between the two combatants was evident — Sia, basking in the radiant strength bestowed by sunlight, and Lune, poised with a watery arsenal ready to strike from a distance as she prepared multiple water arrows floating in the air.

The drone hovering above the arena initiated the countdown, and with each passing second, anticipation grew. As the match commenced, Sia surged forward, her movements intensified by the enhanced physical attributes granted by <>. On the other end, Lune gracefully retreated, weaving through the arena with agility, preparing to unleash her precise water arrows.

Sia closed in with blinding speed, aiming to close the distance before Lune could rain down her watery projectiles. Lune, however, skillfully maintained her distance, unleashing a barrage of water arrows with calculated precision.

The arena echoed with the sounds of impact — the powerful strikes of Sia's enhanced fists colliding with the watery projectiles skillfully directed by Lune. Lune started to manifest more and more arrows. Firing them without giving them any rest to Sia. Sia was using her all to either dodge or break Lune's arrow. Lune also continued to maintain her supremacy amplifying the strength of each arrow, very arrow stronger than the last. Sia had no chance to attack and without her even noticing she had stepped back to the edge of the stadium.
