Chapter 65 - Re-Entry

Ahiro was exiting the Techsynthesia class, relieved that another week of intense learning had come to an end. He was looking forward to catching up on some of the things he had fallen behind on during the weekend. The workload at Valorious Academy was intense, and Ahiro was determined not to let anything slip through the cracks.

As he walked through the busy hallways, his mind was already racing, thinking about all the topics he needed to review and the assignments he had to complete. That's when he felt a faint vibration from his wrist, indicating that he had received a notification.

He opened his Smart Band and opened the email. It was from Miss Maya, the enigmatic Archaeology teacher. The subject line read: "Meeting Request."

Ahiro's eyebrows furrowed as he read the email's contents:

"Dear Ahiro,

I hope this message finds you well. I want to request your presence in my office. Please drop by at your earliest convenience. There are some matters I'd like to discuss.

Sincerely,

Miss Maya"

The message was concise, and Ahiro couldn't help but wonder what this was all about. With a mix of curiosity and a hint of apprehension, Ahiro started going to Miss Maya's office, contemplating what this meeting might entail.

As Ahiro arrived at the teachers' lounge, he approached the reception area and was asked to scan his student ID. The device beeped in approval, granting him access. Nervously, he made his way to the reception desk, inquiring about the location of Miss Maya's office. The receptionist gave him directions, guiding him down a corridor and pointing out the room number he was seeking.

Following the directions given, Ahiro made his way to Miss Maya's office, reaching the door indicated by the receptionist. Taking a deep breath, he knocked gently before hearing a voice from inside calling for him to enter.

Pushing the door open, Ahiro stepped inside the office. Seated at her desk, Miss Maya looked up, smiling warmly as she gestured for Ahiro to take a seat in front of her.

"Welcome, Ahiro," she greeted him with an inviting smile. "Thank you for coming. I hope I'm not interrupting anything important?"

Ahiro shook his head. "No, not at all, Professor Maya. I received your email and was curious about what you wanted to discuss."

"I wanted to chat with you, Ahiro," Miss Maya began, her voice composed yet curious. "Firstly, how are you finding your time at Valorious Academy?"

Ahiro replied, "It's been quite an experience. The classes are challenging, and I'm learning a lot. The assignments keep me on my toes."

"I'm glad to hear that," Miss Maya said, nodding.

"So back to the topic I wanted to know about your observation that you made during my first class about this" Miss Maya said bringing a holographic image of a relic in front of Ahiro.

Miss Maya glanced at Ahiro with a curious smile.

"Professor, I may have mistaken it for a Toy, I am sorry if you find it insulting, I don't have any knowledge of archaeology and just thought a little out of the box. I am again sorry madam" Ahiro replied apologetically thinking he was called here for the mistake he made that day.

Miss Maya nodded. "No need to apologize, Ahiro, Thinking out of the box is a crucial skill in archaeology. Your innocent statement about the relic caught my attention that day and i did some research on that, and I finally saw it too."

She flicked a switch on her holographic interface, and the relic rotated mid-air.

Miss Maya nodded, smiling gently. "When we see it like that some may indeed mistake it for a toy. What we perceive can sometimes be different from the truth. It's all part of the intriguing and mysterious world of archaeology. Each artefact holds a story waiting to be decoded."

She continued, "But your out-of-the-box thinking is a valuable approach, Ahiro. It's something that could be of great use in our archaeology class. If you're interested, I'd encourage you to join us at the next session."

Ahiro was taken aback by the unexpected invitation. He felt a surge of excitement upon realizing the opportunity that had presented itself. "I'd love to join the archaeology class, Miss Maya! Thank you for this chance."

Miss Maya smiled warmly. "I look forward to your contribution, Ahiro. Your unique perspective could add a new dimension to our discussions."

Feeling a sense of appreciation and motivation, Ahiro thanked Miss Maya once again for her openness and consideration. He left her office with a renewed enthusiasm and a new path laid before him.

Ahiro stepped out of Professor Maya's office, his mind whirling with anticipation. The air felt charged with an almost palpable energy, a blend of excitement and nervousness swirling within him. His thoughts were racing faster than his steps as he navigated the corridors of Valorius Academy.

Unsure of where to start, he fished his communicator out of his pocket and dialled Emily's number. The device hummed softly before her face appeared on the screen. "Hey, Emily," he greeted her, a mixture of eagerness and uncertainty in his voice.

"Hey, Ahiro, what's up?" Emily responded, her tone warm and friendly.

"Remember the archaeology class I was turned down from?" Ahiro began, a faint hint of excitement coloring his words.

"Yeah, of course," Emily replied, leaning in with curiosity.

"I just spoke to Miss Maya, and guess what? She seemed pretty intrigued by my thoughts on ancient relics and—"

"Wait, really? That's fantastic!" Emily's eyes widened with genuine surprise and happiness. "So, what did she say?"

Ahiro's lips curved into a wide grin. "She said I could join the class starting next week! Can you believe it?"

"Wow, that's amazing news, Ahiro!" Emily's enthusiasm was contagious. "You deserve it! I'll make sure to forward you all the notes from the class discussions so you can catch up before next week."

"Thanks, Emily, you're the best," Ahiro expressed his gratitude, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. The relief of having a friend willing to support him through this transition was immense.

"Absolutely! I've got your back," Emily reassured him with a smile. "This way, you won't miss a beat when you join the class. You'll be all set to impress Miss Maya with your newfound knowledge."

Ahiro chuckled, the tension he'd been carrying easing away. "I hope so! Thanks again, Emily. I owe you one."

"No worries at all! Just focus on catching up, and before you know it, you'll be acing that class," Emily encouraged him.

With a sense of newfound determination and a plan in place, Ahiro bid Emily farewell, grateful for her unwavering support. He pocketed his communicator, feeling lighter and more prepared to tackle the challenge that lay ahead.
