"How is that a children's toy, Mr. Fate? Don't waste time and get going," Miss Maya Voice carried a hint of annoyance now.
Ahiro tried to defend his choice. "Oh, I must be mistaken because it looked like a horse," he said but got no response so he started leaving the class.
As he exited the room, he couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment for not being able to participate in the archeology class. He had been genuinely looking forward to it.
Outside the classroom, Ahiro ran into Michal, the student who had been the first to be sent out. Michal was pacing back and forth, frustration etched across his face. He didn't waste a moment before launching into a tirade.
"This is so unfair, you were also sent out right," Michal exclaimed, his voice tinged with frustration. "I could have been a great archaeologist if they had given me a chance. But they kicked me out even before I could show them what I'm capable of!"
Ahiro had listened to Michal's frustrations quietly, offering support and understanding where he could.
"I know it's frustrating, Michal," Ahiro said, offering a supportive smile. "But maybe there's a reason for this. Sometimes, unexpected paths lead to the most exciting discoveries. Who knows, maybe this is just the beginning of something even more incredible for you."
Ahiro spoke more to himself than Michal, and then they parted ways. He couldn't help but feel disheartened by his own rejection from the archeology class.
Still, Ahiro knew that he had to make the most of his time at Valorius Academy. There was so much more to learn and explore, and the knowledge presented by his fellow students showcased not only their high IQ but also their general awareness that they showcased far outclassed him.
Ahiro decided to not waste time on useless things, since he had now had time he decided to spend the rest of his free time until dinner in the library, immersing himself in his studies.
Entering the library, he selected an empty table and selected the books he needed with the help of a Library Assistant AI through his band.
Selecting his books he started going through them, His research was currently focused on topics related to awakening and AGS parameters, how to master his power, etc but after the last class on tech-synthesia, he had plenty of theoretical material to cover as well.
Ahiro quickly organized the books, prioritizing them based on their importance and relevance to his studies. Ahiro was never one to get bored with studying; the only thing that had limited him in the past was a lack of resources. Now, this well-equipped library fulfilled his thirst for knowledge and more.
In the library, there was a unique setup where you could access its contents from any table using a terminal. However, what set these resources apart from other online forums was that they were specially designed for Valorius Academy students. They contained a wealth of carefully curated information.
Ahiro was currently searching for information on Attenuation, a topic Miss Gia had pointed out. Unfortunately, students couldn't take physical books from the library to their dorms due to security concerns. So, Ahiro had to look for materials related to Attenuation right there in the library.
The place was often bustling with students, but everything was digital, which made it easy for everyone to explore a wide range of books. These books weren't just text and images; they also included video lectures for a richer learning experience, making the library the most popular resource in the entire Academy.
Time seemed to fly by as he delved into the wealth of information the library had to offer. Ahiro was focused, driven, and completely absorbed in his studies. After a long study session, Ahiro made his way to the cafeteria where he joined Melvin and Emily at their regular table. Emily, her voice trembling slightly, tried to console Ahiro, saying, "You did well, Ahiro, but Miss Maya was tough, and we couldn't do anything. Don't be disheartened."
Melvin listened intently, his brow furrowing as he asked Emily what had happened in the archeology class. Emily quickly explained how Miss Maya had chosen to remove four students out of the eight who had initially decided to join the class.
Melvin, encouraged Ahiro, saying, "There's no need to worry, Ahiro. I have already told you but this subject was your third elective, not a compulsion so do not worry and focus on other subjects more. "
Ahiro managed a fake smile and nodded, replying, "You're right, Melvin. Maybe it just wasn't meant for me."
Although he tried to hide it, there was disappointment in his heart. Melvin noticed the lingering disappointment on Ahiro's face and decided to change the topic. He leaned in and asked, "So, Ahiro, Emily, what's the plan for the weekend?"
Ahiro and Emily exchanged a glance before Emily responded, "Well, we don't have classes on Sunday, which is our only free day, right?"
Melvin nodded enthusiastically and chimed in, "Exactly! So, we should make the most of it. How about we plan something exciting for this weekend since the ones after this will be all about assignments and classes and other preparation,"
Melvin, turned to Ahiro and asked, "Hey, Ahiro, have you taken a tour around the capital before ?"
Ahiro shook his head. "No, this is actually my first time in the capital. I came directly to the academy on the entrance exam day."
Melvin's eyes widened with a mix of surprise and excitement. "Well, then you're in for a treat! The capital has so much to offer. I should show you around."
Ahiro hesitated for a moment. "I appreciate the offer, Melvin, but I've got a lot of catching up to do. I'm behind in my studies, and this weekend is the only time I have to make up for it."
Emily chimed in, "Ahiro, you can't just study all the time. You need to take a break and recharge."
Melvin nodded in agreement. "Yeah, even the best scholars need some downtime. Plus, there's a special place I want to show both of you."
Ahiro pondered for a moment, torn between the desire to explore the capital and the need to catch up on his studies.
After some persuasion from Melvin and Emily, Ahiro finally relented and said, "Alright, let's do it. I could use a break from studying."
Melvin grinned, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Great! It's a surprise, so you'll have to wait and see."
They finished their lunch, chatted a bit more about their plans for the next day, and then headed back to their respective dorm rooms, eagerly looking forward to their adventure in the capital.
