Finally ahiro asked a question that Miss Jane and Elara were somewhat dodging.
"Hmm, what about Mia, is she fine"
As Ahiro asked about Mia, a solemn hush settled over the room, and the atmosphere grew heavy with unspoken worry. Elara's eyes met Miss Jane's, and the caretaker gave a subtle nod as if giving permission to Elara to speak.
Ahiro lay in his hospital bed, his thoughts filled with worry for Mia. He had been waiting anxiously for Miss Jane or Elara to return with news about her condition. As he stared at the ceiling, the door to his room swung open, and two individuals entered.
Two people, dressed in what looked like police uniforms, walked into the room. Both had matching colored suits with insignia of a cityscape with sunrise. This was the insignia of the police department but thier uniform color was different from normal police he had seen.
Ahiro regarded them with a mixture of curiosity and caution. "Who are you?" he asked, his voice laced with uncertainty.
One of the police flashed a bright smile and responded, "Oh, don't be so formal! I'm Miss Rami, and this is my partner, Mr. Rodez. We're with the special branch of the police, and work under the department that specializes in activities related to Awakeners."
Mr. Rodez nodded solemnly in confirmation. "Indeed, we're here on official business. We've been assigned to this case, the one involving the trio that entered the orphanage that day."
Ahiro's brow furrowed as he considered their words. "What do you want with me? "
Miss Rami's playful demeanor shifted slightly as she explained, "As for why we're here, we'd like to hear your side of the story regarding the incident at the orphanage."
Mr. Rodez stepped forward and spoke with a measured tone. "We're concerned about the events that transpired that day. We're here to gather information, assess your health, and understand the sequence of events. It's standard procedure in an ongoing investigation."
Ahiro nodded, starting to grasp the situation. "I see. Well, I'm willing to cooperate and share what I know."
Miss Rami smiled warmly. "That's wonderful to hear, Ahiro. First, let's ensure you're feeling well. Can you tell us about your current health and any strange symptoms you've experienced since the incident?"
As Ahiro began to describe his condition and the lingering effects of the ordeal, Miss Rami and Mr. Rodez listened attentively, making notes and asking clarifying questions. They were here to uncover the truth, and they needed Ahiro's account to piece together the events of that fateful day.
Mr. Rodez listened intently as Ahiro described his physical condition and the psychological toll the incident had taken on him. After Ahiro had finished sharing his account, Mr. Rodez cleared his throat, his expression somber.
"I want to apologize, Ahiro, for the delayed arrival of the authorities that day," he began. "Unfortunately, our police department has been dealing with some internal issues, namely corruption. It's an ongoing battle to root out those who have used their positions for personal gain instead of protecting the people they serve."
Miss Rami chimed in, her tone was more upbeat despite the grim topic. "But, Ahiro, the good news is that the department has been making significant strides in cleaning up its act. The corrupt officials responsible for the delays and mishandling of cases are being brought to justice. We're determined to restore faith in our system."
Ahiro nodded, appreciating their candor. "I understand. It's reassuring to know that things are being set right."
Mr. Rodez continued, "Yes, and part of setting things right is making sure that cases like yours receive the attention and care they deserve. We're here to ensure that justice is served and to prevent such incidents from happening again."
As they spoke, Ahiro couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope. It seemed that despite the corruption and past failures, there were individuals like Miss Rami and Mr. Rodez who were dedicated to upholding the law and protecting those in need.
after all thier question were over he asked something that concerned him most right now "How is Mia, why were the trio after her?"
Ahiro's heart sank as he pressed the officers for information about Mia. He needed to know what had happened to her after he had passed out, even though the thought of it filled him with dread.
Mr. Rodez's expression grew serious, and he continued in a solemn tone. "After you passed out, Ahiro, the situation became chaotic. The skinny man was successful in taking hold of Mia. The entire incident was recorded by the drones we had dispatched. After kicking you He grabbed hold of Mia"
Mr. Rodez continued to provide details about the trio's escape.
"The girl seems to possess a power similar to an EMP, an electromagnetic pulse," he explained. "It interferes with electronic systems, rendering them temporarily dysfunctional. That's how she managed to disrupt the drones that surrounded them. But when she used her power she was passedout, i think her power may have somesideeffects on her as well."
Miss Rami picked up the narrative, her eyes focused as she recounted the events. "As the drones closed in, the bulky man carried the unconscious girl on his back, while the skinny guy held onto Mia. The drones were hesitant to take any aggressive countermeasures, knowing that Mia was in their hands, and we didn't want to risk her safety."
"The trio eventually broke through a window in the common room," Mr. Rodez continued. "From there, they ran through a maze of narrow alleyways, expertly evading our pursuit. They seemed to know these routes well, which suggests that they were familiar with the area."
Ahiro absorbed the information, his mind racing as he tried to piece together the events that had unfolded after he had lost consciousness. The skill and coordination displayed by the trio were unsettling, and he couldn't help but feel a growing sense of determination to bring them to justice.
Miss Rami offered a reassuring glance. "We won't rest until we've tracked them down, Ahiro. Your cooperation and any information you can provide will be invaluable in this case."
Ahiro nodded, resolved to do whatever it took to help the authorities locate Mia and ensure that the trio faced the consequences of their actions.
"From what ever we have gathered till now, based on the drone recording and thier mode of operation, we can say that this attack on orphanage was not spur of the moment on thier part, this was a calculated attack, with a full proof escape plan." miss Rina stated in solemn tone. Her comman sense said that it was no use of telling a 12 year old boy wether the attack was preplaned or not, except increasing fear and causing trauma that would mean nothing, but her gut told that this boy who had survived after dealing with this much torture needed to know the truth.
