Day of the final clash between Requiem and Xyverinos( another two months)
Requiem looked at me as we met in an open field alone. The bright sun overhead. This field has seen none of the ravages of the war between light and dark.
The sun was shining as Requiem spoke," Before we begin, Xyverinos. If you die today, what do you want your family and friends to know, and what do you want."
I answered," As chivalrous as ever Requiem. If I die, I want them to know I care for them. Now, what I want, it's peace. What about you?"
Requiem chuckled," I should have figured; I promise you that if you die, I will talk with my father about making your goal happen. As for what I want, I want to enjoy this Battle with you. Dying in a battle against you would be a dream."
I shook my head with a small smile," Who said I would kill you? In all honesty, I didn't want to kill Unla; I would have instead had him be an ally. So I want to ask you this formally: would you be my ally and help me reach my goal, stop this war from continuing, and reunite the demonic and angelic wyverns and dragons."
Requiem froze and started laughing," Sorry, I cannot accept. My father would never allow that."
I sighed sadly, looking down," Fine. So it looks like we would have to fight after all."
Requiem spoke softly," I would accept that, in all honesty, Xyverinos. Both my brother and I are opposites. I prefer peace and prosperity for the world. My father and brother like war and death."
Looking at him, I growled," Fine; I will knock some sense into your father's brain. Just letting you know I was not expecting Unnin to be your father."
He shrugged," Surprised my brother didn't say anything; he was always the type to boast about it to his enemies before killing them. Well, let us not keep the underworld waiting."
Nodding in agreement, I muttered," Barrier of protection."
Golden light surrounded the both of us while it formed into a massive cube, releasing my magic energy. Likewise, golden light surrounded me as Requiem released his magic energy, black tendrils spinning around him.
Requiem took it a step further almost immediately; the shadows and darkness seemed to strengthen while he entered the strongest power we can reach, equipollence.
I did the same; spheres of energy, dark and light, clashed together, creating electrical sparks.
Blue flames surrounded me before being absorbed into me. Then, with one final tug, I entered equipollence simultaneously as Requiem. His darkness immediately turned into spears being flung at me. Swiping my wing, I dissolved the shadows instantly. Requiem shot at me, meeting him in the center of the barrier; a shockwave spread from us as our heads collided. Opening my mouth, he just looked up; I released a blast of flames, and he dodged but barely. My flames collided with the barrier, exploding on impact, expanding into a sun before collapsing a moment later—a supernova created enough energy to fling us apart.
Wind, lightning, light, and fire surrounded me while I looked at Requiem; ice seemed to spread from him, the ground shaking, and darkness all seemed to flare. They are racing towards each other, breaking the sound barrier on both ends. Colliding with enough force to rip my barrier, destroying the world around us. As Requiem snarled, his shadow claws came out, grabbing my burning shoulders and flinging me away. I ripped through the ground, causing a trench to appear. Recovering quickly, I flung myself into the air, Requiem chasing after me as I spun around and released a column of flames as I heard him scream in agony. Diving through my flames, I connected with him, driving him down, and he impacted the ground with a force that sent dust high in the air; the ground shook from the impact as I landed on the ridge of the pit that seemed to go on forever.
Still able to sense him, I formed light spears, flicking my tail. I sent them raining down onto him. Another howl sounded as I heard rocks shattering below before going silent. Sensing something amiss, my battle sight flared while I barely dodged a spear of darkness from the pit. If I hadn't been in equipollence form, I would have probably gotten my head off.
Breathing out, I released a torrent of flames, melting the ground.
The sound of rocks breaking reached my ears from behind me. Whirling around to be met with a spear of shadow piercing through my flaming chest.
Growling, I gripped the spear and obliterated the spear. Then, forming thousands of spears, I flicked my tail, sending them all aimed at Requiem. The ground exploded from the impact of each spear.
I kept my mind open to feel the slightest sign of life from Requiem. Then, finally, I felt his mind open up for just a second to feel where he was and what attack.
Ducking under a spear of ice, only to start sinking from the ground into quicksand. Releasing my flames, I turned the sand into glass, trapping my claws into it. Looking up, I was met with a dark claw slamming me into the ground; feeling my ribs crack, I let out a pained gasp.
Shattering the glass, I teleported out of the way; Requiem spoke softly," Let us finish this, our final attack against each other. The winner lives, the loser dies."
I nodded and countered," Winner lives, yes, but I will not kill you."
Requiem snorted," I wish I could say the same."
I whispered," Battle isn't always about life and death. Mercy in Battle can turn into the most fantastic thing between two enemies. Friendship, bonds, and brotherhood. During these last four months of fighting you, I felt I could see into your soul. Requiem."
I released my equipollence as he remained still covered in darkness. Finally, he spoke coldly," No, you don't."
I smiled slightly, feeling his emotions," Don't lie to me, Requiem. No one can lie to me. But if you insist, we shall finish this Battle now."
Darkness swirled around him as golden magic swirled around me,' Magic of Origin: Spear of light!'
My magic seemed to triple in power as I sensed shock, awe, and respect from Requiem. A giant spear of all the elements I possessed flared behind me; the shaft was wind, the inner part of the blade was lightning, as black as night—the outer, blue flames radiating heat. The light was the end, creating a pointed part.
Requiem shouted," Darkness magic: Circle of death!"
Frost spread outwards, surrounding us as I flicked my tail, not allowing him to finish the spell.
Being so close to my spell, I would take considerable injuries.
An explosion surrounded us, and everything turned black for a moment.
Coming to it, I groaned as I opened my eyes to see I was on my stomach in the center of the crater.
I heard a cough to my right. Looking around, I noticed it was Requiem as he spoke first, hoarsely," That was one powerful spell? Well, are you going to finish me?"
Shaking my head," No, I meant what I said, Requiem. I see you as a friend and a brother in a sense. I want you by my side to create peace in the world. Along with your father."
Requiem's next words would hold a place in my heart for a long time," Xyverinos, you taught me an important lesson today. You were right; I could see your soul and what kind, caring soul you have."
