Emma's father entered the room, his expression a mix of relief and worry. He glanced at both Michele and Emma. With a concerned look he asked, "Michele, how are you feeling now?"
Michele managed a weak smile and replied, "I'm better now, thank you."
The room was filled with an uncomfortable silence, and Emma's father could sense the tension in the air. He decided to change the topic and said, "I've informed the doctor about Michele's condition. They will come to check on her soon."
Emma's father took a seat in one of the chairs beside the hospital bed. He looked at Emma and expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Emma, for staying here with Michele while I was away. I really appreciate it."
Emma nodded without saying anything.
Her phone vibrated on the table beside her, and she saw that it was Adrian calling. She quickly excused herself from the hospital room and stepped out into the corridor to answer the call.
