"Summons! I have always fantasized fighting alongside with my summons when playing with my phone. It came true!" Arthur happily expressed his joy upon acquiring this skill.
And it was an EX Tier skill?! All he knew is that in every game he played EX skills were always top rated skills!
Arthur couldn't help but become excited especially when the skills said it cannot be evolved. What did it mean? It meant that the skill was already at its best thus it cannot be upgraded.
Without wasting another second, Arthur wished that he would learn this skill.
[Do you wish to learn this skill?]
'Yes!' Arthur nodded and at that moment, the scroll in his hands disappeared and a notification flashed on his retina.
[You have learned an active skill.]
Arthur felt something occupy his Index and the skill Hero Summon was added as his active skill in his Index.
He didn't use the summon yet because he was still in the forest. Arthur planned to level up to 5 and 10 being the highest before calling it a day and go home. There he would use his summoning and pray that some good hero would appear.
If only he knew how absurd his thoughts were. Level up to 10? In a single day no less? It is impossible unless he would fight creatures above him. Which was no different from courting death!
Arthur dismissed the messages and continued his adventure.
He didn't even got to take 5 steps when the surrounding bushes shook and made a noise.
Arthur readied himself up, he was not letting himself get caught off guard again.
Just then, a 6ft long pinkish tongue lashed in front of him. At the front of the tongue was its weapon, a sharp edge and it was coated with poisonous saliva.
Arthur sidestepped, evading it by a few centimeters and slashed his katana upwards. He successfully cut its tongue. The cut part of the tongue fell with a thud and the rest was retracted by the attacker.
"Attacking me by surprise when you made a noise isn't gonna work at al-" Arthur couldn't finish when the tongue he had cut wiggled and lashed out again, piercing his chest.
Or at least it tried, Arthur managed to twist his body at the last moment. But he couldn't fully evade it, as a result, the tongue pierced his left shoulder. The tongue wiggled a little more before losing its life.
"Ugh... " Arthur pulled the tongue that was rooted in his shoulder. "That f*cking toad!"
Arthur took out an antidote specifically made for this frog's poison, he chugged it down to its last drop. Since Arthur was going to the Forest of Beginning, his family already knew what kind of creatures he would face and gave him things that would help him if he encountered trouble.
He didn't mind the blood that was dripping from his shoulder and dashed towards the spot where the attack came from. He wasn't going to let that damn frog go!
A few meters away from him, the frog could be seen hopping away from him.
"Not so fast!" Arthur roared and used the active skill attached to his earring. His speed shot up a notch and moments later, he caught up with the frog.
Arthur slashed his katana aiming for the frog's head however before it could hit the frog, the frog hopped sideways and turned to face Arthur.
Arthur felt that the frog smirked at him, but didn't paid mind to it.
It extended its wounded tongue, although the tongue didn't have its sharp edge anymore it could still be used as a binder. Its purpose was to bind Arthur and just swallow him whole!
Arthur didn't panic, he quickly regained his balance and parried the tongue with a roundhouse kick. He then stomped the ground beneath him and gathered all of his strength to his legs and feet.
He propelled himself like a bullet and flew towards the frog.
The frog didn't sit idly and quickly retracted its tongue. It prepared itself to use a poisonous skill.
Arthur arrived in front of the frog and horizontally slashed with all his might. The frog also tried to use its skill but Arthur's blade was much faster.
And before it could cast its skill, the katana cleanly chopped its head off from its body.

[You have leveled up to level 5. You are given 3 free stat points.]
Arthur let out a sight of relief. Unfortunately, the frog didn't drop any items. But Arthur wasn't upset, he knew that drops don't appear every time you get a kill.
"I'll save these free stat points for later use." Arthur decided and stepped away.
It was then Arthur finally noticed that the forest was silent, or more like everything around him was dead silent.
Arthur's gaze landed on the frog and he remembered the moment that the frog seemed to smirk at him.
"This f*cking frog lured me deep into the forest didn't it?" Arthur couldn't help but curse the frog.
He also cursed himself for not thinking things through. Now, he won't let it happen a second time and needed to be more cautious.
He raised his katana and heightened his senses.
It was at that moment when Arthur felt his neck turn cold, death was behind him.
Arthur instantly ducked and rolled. A heartbeat later, the air vibrated and was cut into two.
SWOOOSH!
If Arthur didn't duck and continued to just stand there, his body would've already split in two or worse get blown away and turn into meatpaste.
Arthur turned and saw the thing he hated the most. His body shivered in fear when looking at the creature that was much, much stronger than him.
HIIISSSSS!
The 31ft long and 7ft wide snake hissed at Arthur. The comparison between the two was like ant and Goliath. It was also the same with their levels. While Arthur was still a cute level 5 Evolver, the snake was already at level 20 on the verge of evolving to the next tier!
It knew that Arthur wasn't the thing that would make it evolve, however it didn't matter. Arthur was already a done meal in its eyes.
Meanwhile, Arthur was having an internal debate.
'Should I fight or run?' Arthur carefully thought. Although he was scared, he knew that if he manage survive this he would be stronger than ever.
Although the snake was fast, it was still at a level that Arthur could manage. He weighed the pros and cons before deciding what to do and that was...
Arthur took a deep breath before pointing his katana at the snake. "Tonight's dinner is snake soup!" He roared in order to shake off the fear in his heart.
HIIISSSSS!
The snake understood what Arthur said and it made it angry. How dare a mere ant threaten it like this!
It waved its tail before it shot full speed towards Arthur.
Arthur who could still react to the attack, caught it with side of his katana and used the momentum of the snake to guide it to his left. He barely avoided a fatal blow to his head by a few centimeters.
Without wasting the precious moment he bought, Arthur gathered his strength and sprinted his way towards the snake.
The snake used its skill and spat out green venomous blob. It was fast but not as fast as its tail lash, Arthur easily dodge to the right and arrived in front of the snake.
Arthur was about to take a leap and stab its eyes when his body flew to side and crashed to a nearby tree.
The snake's tail had hit him on the back.
BOOOM!
It was like he was hit again by a car, however the difference this time was it was more like a truck than a car.
Dust rose and covered him up and his surroundings.
"Cough... " Arthur coughed up a mouthful of blood, he was badly injured this time. He could feel that some of his bones broke and pierced him in the inside.
The only reason why he didn't turn into meat paste was because the snake sacrificed the power of its tail for speed. But it was still enough to send him flying and feel a world of pain.
"Maybe I bit more than I could chew... " Arthur muttered weakly as blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.
