Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Waking Up

The street lights added to this view.Still sharing a gaze with her, he could now see her beautiful brown eyes, curved long lashes and pink shaded lips. It was surely a lovely sight to behold. It made it seem like it was just too good to be real.

Jack now suddenly heard a voice. It didn't seem to be from the place. He looked around but it didn't seem to be from the person at his front, and no one seemed to be around the place, apart from Lyya and him.

"Jack," The strange unclear voice called his name, but it didn't sound like his Lyya's, or even a female's.

"Did you hear that?" He asked the girl, looking around in confusion.

He tried tracing where the voice was coming from. It was an undeniable familiar British male's voice he had heard.

This voice echoed in his head, but sounded as though it was in reality. Jack was still looking at Lyya and her face leaned closer to his.

Everything around his environment suddenly began to disappear, as if they weren't supposed to even be real in the first place.

"No, no, no" Jack lamented as the beautiful person standing so close to him suddenly began to fade away, like some fake image.

He tried to grab Lyya but it felt like he was just touching the air.

The things kept on vanishing at the place they stood.

"What's happening?" He asked Lyya that was almost gone. Only her face was now remaining.

Jack's eyes widened, and the only thing in his soroundings was the face of this lady that was now morphing into someone else's.

"Wake up you piece of shit," The mumbling voice said to befuddled Jack.

It had now began to travel back slowly. His consciousness. Back into reality.

Jack's eyes now opened a little, for real this time, and his eyes met a blurry image. It wasn't clear to him, but certainly did not look like Lyya.

"Maybe you should try hitting him in the face," Another male with an English accent suggested, but this one sounded louder and even clearer than the first.

With a painful feeling, a person's palm pressed hard against his face, creating a loud sound. He received a very hard slap that almost broke his neck, as it forced him to turn the other way. He gasped in shock as he instantly jerked up, now conscious of his environment.

He looked around the room he was in, and realized it was one of his mate's house. It was Aurthur's house, and he probably was the one that had given him the sense- awakening slap.

Leaning on the wall at the other side of the room, with hands in his pocket, was his friend Leo. He assumed he was the one that had suggested the hot slap in the first place.

"I told you it'd work" Leo said.

Still feeling pain on both his cheek and head, Jack winced as he managed to get up from the bed. He couldn't even remember how he got here.

Still sounding like he was in pain, he slurred, scratching his mussed up hair, "What happened?" Now he said this one sounding better, in a clearer and slightly higher tone, " And who the bloody hell slapped me?!"

"Relax" Leo said, calming him down."You passed out at the pub,"

Aurthur now added, demonstrating with his hands, " Like poof. Blacked out. We even had to carry you all the way here"

Scratching his head, Jack had now realized that he had just been dreaming of his past memories. It hurt him to the core as he now had flashes of his current predicament.

It made him feel like going back to sleep, and travelling back to the world he had just come from; his past memories.

"For how long was I out?" He inquired. He put his two feet on the floor, and with his two hands supporting him on the bed, he attempted standing up.

"Too long" Aurthur replied him, "You should get the hell outta my house now. This ain't your hotel"

Aurthur went to get Jack a glass of water.

"Thanks mate" He said and gulped it down his throat until it emptied.

With a loud sigh, he dropped the glass by the small wooden stool beside him. He wiped off his mouth, and his eyes now suddenly met concerned faces at his front, staring at him.

He gave a confused look at Aurthur and Leo who looked at him sympathetically. His eyes glanced at the two as he tried understanding their sudden soft expression.

Aurthur came to sit beside him on the bed, and so did Leo. Aurthur rested his head on Jack's shoulder, with two hands embracing him. Jack's eyes opened wide in absolute confusion.

He quickly shifted from him,"What the heck?"

Leo put an arm on his shoulder, "It's okay Jack. We're here"

Jack, who was creeped out, now stood up, shifting from them as he yelled,

"What the bloody hell?!"

"Jack, it's all over the news. You're really getting married to Clarrissa." Said Aurthur.

"Or is it imprisoned?" Leo added, making a slight jest there.

In exasperation, Jack hit his face, covering it, as he now remembered how messed up his current life was.

Inside his head, he asked himself again, 'For how long exactly was I out?'

Leo went further, "And I suppose you were also invited to the Barrington's party. That's like, tonight"

Jack lamented greatly, "Oh shoot me an arrow"

"He doesn't have to go for this werewolf's guy party," Aurthur said trying to make things seem better, "Right?"

Leo, who knew how things worked, put up his fingers counting in whispers, as he demonstrated,

"One two, three, four, five…" A loud bang was now suddenly heard on Aurthur's front door, "There it is"

Aurthur now went to check who it was, and as he opened it, his eyes met men wearing suits.

These men, who worked for the Alpha, had come to carry Jack, so he could prepare himself for the exclusive Barrington party. Jack felt like jumping into the Mississippi river.

He was completely bemoaned.

They actually took him away, and as fast as blinking lashes, Jack found himself dressed in coperate-wear, looking all responsible, and with a corsage in his hands. He was being driven to the Barrington's mansion in the city.

He was very sure this party was not a regular one, and had a little thing to do with him meeting Clarrissa there. He knew also that thousands of other wealthy packs would be in attendance, as it was the great-important Barrington's party.

He was sure that he was a guest of honour, if you may say.

He felt really uncomfortable as he knew he was definitely going to see that werewolf girl's face again. That mistake; he called her.

He would be meeting Clarrissa Barrington there.

Inside the fancy car he was. Jack was being driven to the place of the party.
