"What the..." I swallowed back the words as I looked at the huge pile of plates placed in front of me. I wanted to curse but I couldn't because of the odd-old-short man standing at my back with Lusaka.
"I thought you said I will be given little work because of my fragile bone"I could hear the quotation mark in the statement: Fragile bone.
"Well, well, well... as you can see young lad, this place is a all-man place and I've never heard of anything like little work here okay? Now stop complaining and do what you ought to do right now before I change my mind and fire you!" The short man bellowed and I swallowed, my gaze shifting to Lusaka's and his expression seems to tell me not to argue.
I turned back to the man and bowed as a show of gratitude when I didn't feel any gratitude at all.
The short man huffed and strolled out of the kitchen with an air of arrogance and I wondered how the owners of the house will behave when an ordinary head servant is behaving like this.
Immediately the man stepped outside, Lusaka hurried to my side, his face full of worry and concern.
"Can you manage to do this all by yourself? I mean... you could quit now and find another less strenuous work."He said anxiously and I shook my head, I had made up my mind and that was that. He cursed under his breath at the look of determination in my face.
"Look... am off to do my own job, okay? Don't die before I come back"And with that he left the room, chuckling, apparently enjoying his joke. I snorted and turned to the plates before I let out a ear-splitting scream in frustration.
