Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Understanding

Just a short while ago, diverse races existed in entirely separate worlds, with no means of intercommunication. The unique cultures, systems, and languages of each world remained confined to their respective realms of existence.

However, over time, progress was made. Languages were unified, and with that remarkable development, these races from different worlds were suddenly equipped with means of communication.

They could converse, share their thoughts and ideas, and understand the words of the other.

Despite this significant breakthrough, the diversity of the races and their differences still posed a significant challenge.

The gift of a shared language did not solve all the discord. In fact, it birthed a new brand of chaos stemming from the newfound ability to comprehend each other.

A world characterized by the diversity of species is fraught with challenges. The principle of the environment would have it that intimidation and a show of strength tend to be the go-to methods of establishing hierarchy and supremacy.

In a world where there had previously been no common language, mere speculation about the 'other' would form the basis of decisions and actions.

There were those who harbored the misguided belief that they could establish dominance over other races by virtue of superior communication skills.

Prejudice and animosity were not alien sentiments, even for those belonging to the same race. The emergence of a common language, therefore, did little to quell the animosity. Ironically, it only served to give a more audible voice to the dissent.

Drawing from the memories of the world I was parochially familiar with – a world dominated by human beings – it is clear that sharing a common identity is not synonymous with harmony or unity; divisions arose from various other aspects such as terrorism, religious affiliations, and a multitude of grievances and grudges born out of differences. Extend this principle to a world of diverse races, and the potential for discord would naturally amplify.

Certainly, not all were comfortable with this burgeoning diversity. A number of them, especially those who had once held the reins of power in their own worlds, found this hard to stomach. Both existing conflicts and fresh discord born out of the newfound diversity needed to be addressed.

With the unifying objective of restoring peace and order, the world government stepped up once again to address the escalating chaos.

Their solution was to leverage the formidable power of the twenty-two heroes, whose awe-inspiring abilities held the potential to create a semblance of peace and pave the way for lasting harmony among the diverse races.

In this chaotic world where civilizations with distinct skills and abilities were thrust together, some tribes struggled based on their inherent qualities.

Whether it was magic, supernatural abilities, or innate physical prowess, each of these attributes was unique to their individual races.

Certain races chose to use these unique abilities, not as a means of peaceful co-existence, but as tools of dominance and subjugation over others.

However, the recently established world government, under its banner of unity and equality, didn't leave this injustice unaddressed. These usurpers were met with resolute resistance, their attempts of exploitation fiercely combated through force and might.

The government fought magic with superior magic, countered superhuman strength with overwhelming physical prowess and neutralized supernatural abilities with even more potent supernatural powers.

In essence, it was an exercise of sheer force - absolute power countering and overpowering those who intended to impose their dominance.

In pursuit of equality across all races, the global government practiced an unflinching strategy, one that aimed to compel the oppressors into conformity with their ideology.

That meant using force, if needed, to ensure that everyone fell within the purview of this newfound equality. The infliction of intense pressure and dominance led to two outcomes; the dominant parties either caved in, marginalizing their differences to fit into the supposedly 'equal' mold, or were completely crushed under this stringent policy.

The harsh tactics employed eventually resulted in the stability of the world, which had previously been plunged into unanticipated chaos. Even if the means were rather extreme – conflict was suppressed, and order was restored.

The world I knew began to function under the dictates of this new order, established and maintained by twenty-two heroes who quelled the chaos through their extraordinary measures.

Among these heroes was the woman who stood before me, who I was proud to call my mother - Lilith Orsella. She belonged to the elite league of the twenty-two heroes, people who had gone above and beyond to bring peace.

However, the term 'hero', although commonly used, was but a euphemism, a more palatable label. In reality, these so-called 'heroes' were also known as 'slayers'.

The severity of their actions, the lengths they had gone to–albeit to establish peace–had earned them this fearsome alias. The world held them in awe, recognizing the immense power and unyielding resolve they embodied.

In the realm of these extraordinary slayers, Lilith Orsella was a standout figure. By virtue of her abilities and unwavering determination, she, along with her fellow heroes, refused to acknowledge any form of 'difference'. Their mission was to eradicate any remnants of discord and inequality with their own hands.

Lilith Orsella understood that order, fragile as it may be, could only be maintained if the principles of equality were upheld. This belief resonated among the twenty-two heroes—a collective of individuals who transcended race and power discrepancies.

Their commitment to equality was unwavering, irrespective of their own backgrounds or the strengths they possessed. It was this shared devotion that enabled them to establish a just society where everyone, regardless of their race or level of prowess, could coexist without distinction.

The establishment of the Super Government was not just a means of reigning over others; rather, it served the purpose of creating an environment where equality could truly flourish. They did not seek to rule, but rather to maintain fairness and peace.

The heroes, including Lilith Orsella, abstained from wielding absolute power and instead preferred to work behind the scenes, occasionally revealing themselves when necessary.

The Super Government operated on the principle of equality for all. However, governing a society comprising numerous races under this ideology necessitated the creation of various laws.

Naturally, in a world characterized by such diversity, any act that disrupted harmony and caused confusion, regardless of its magnitude, was met with the harshest punishment—capital punishment.

Although such severe penalties may seem extreme, they were necessary to ensure the stability of the world. The fear of such repercussions deterred many from engaging in actions that could disturb the fragile equilibrium.

In this world, the value of human life was paramount, and it was understood that no race could thrive without the collective spirit of humanity.

Despite the stringent laws and strict governance, the society aimed to foster an environment where each individual could flourish and contribute their unique qualities.
