I thought about last night as I was brushing my teeth. After last night's conversation, I jumped into my bed for a while out of shyness and then went to bed. I woke up in the morning with a stupid smile on my lips. And my mind keeps saying one thing. I said yes to him. I said yes to Alexander. The stupid girl I mentioned last night is me, since I'm the one who agreed to go on a date with a man I have only known for a month. Am I regretting my decision? Honestly, No... Instead of regret, I'm feeling excited. It's been years since I went on a date, and I forget what it is like to go on a date. That's why I'm feeling nervous and feeling like this is my first date. I'm wondering how a date with Alexander will go. He didn't tell me when we would be going on a date, though. After I said yes, he just said,
"I will see you soon. Good night, butterfly."
I'm giving him a chance and giving myself one too. I'm risking giving my trust and my heart to someone again. And if it breaks again, I will not break, but die. I like him, but as for love, I don't know yet. In my point of view, like and love have two different meanings. Let's leave it to the future. I rinsed my mouth with water and stepped out of my bathroom. I checked my phone to see a message from Alexander.
Alexander: Good morning, butterfly.
A smile creeps onto my lips, and my cheeks turn red. Gosh, it's just a message.
Me: Good morning.
Alexander Moretti, a six-foot-two-inch tall man with jet-black hair and ocean-blue eyes, came into my life and threw my decision to never fall for anyone out of the window. I don't know what's so special about him that makes me so captivated by him. I swear, I have never felt anything like that before, not even towards my ex. And it also makes me wonder what he saw in me that he wants me that much. I can guarantee that he can have a much better woman than me. He deserves a better partner than me. And I'm afraid. Will he still want me when he sees the broken me? He is perfect, but I am not. Will he feel disgusted when he learns about my past?
The feeling of Insecurity creeps into me, and now I'm double-thinking about my decision. Even though I got saved before anything could happen, no one believed it. I trusted Jules and told her what had happened, but she stabbed my back by telling my ex about it. After that, he cheated on me with Jules. Only after the cheating incident did I find out that she told him. He told me I disgusted him. I imagine Alexander's ocean-blue eyes staring at me with disgust, and even the image of it breaks my heart. This is another reason why I never let anyone into my world. I came out of my thoughts as my phone made a ding sound.
Alexander: I miss you.
All my negative thoughts went away as I saw his text.
Alexander: Say you miss me too.
I do, but what made you think that I would admit it?
Me: No, I didn't.
Alexander: Ouch, it hurts.
I chuckled. I think his fans will go crazy if they see those messages from him.
Alexander: Tomorrow, your whole day is mine. I will pick you up at nine in the morning.
My eyes widened in shock. Wait, are we going on the said date tomorrow?
Me: ??
Alexander: You said yes last night, butterfly. You can't back away from your word.
Woah, we really are going on a date tomorrow.
Me: I won't.
Alexander: Good girl. See you tomorrow, butterfly.
Me: See you.
OMG, OMG. What am I going to do now? What am I going to wear? I need help. My phone buzzed with an upcoming call, and I checked my phone screen to see it was Jenny. I quickly picked up the call.
"What's up?"
"I need help."
"What happened? Are you okay? Where are you?"
"At home. Can you come to my house? I will tell you face-to-face."
"Okay, I will be there soon."
I cut the call and calmed my heart, which was racing with excitement and anticipation. My stomach rumbled
as a sign of hunger, and I made my way downstairs with my pajamas still on. I found my mom in the kitchen, making breakfast. The maids are helping her. I went to her and back-hugged her and said,
"Good morning, Mom." she smiled and wished me back.
"Are you hungry?" Mom asked, and instead of me, my stomach answered. She laughed, and I pouted. Last night, I didn't eat much. That's why my stomach is acting like this.
"The breakfast is almost done. Go wake up, Adrian." Mom said.
I said okay and went to Adrian's room. I saw him already awake and wished him a good morning, and told him to come downstairs quickly. I went to the kitchen again and helped Mom serve breakfast. After some moments, Dad and Adrian come downstairs. As I half finished my breakfast, Jenny came. Mom asked her to join us, but she politely refused by saying she already had her breakfast. I quickly ate my food and went to my room with her. As I locked my door, she asked,
"What happened?"
"Take a seat." She did as I said.
I took a seat beside her and started telling her everything. After I finished telling her, I expected her to be surprised, but instead, she looked like she saw this coming.
"It took a while for you to understand. I knew your answer before you did."
"What? How did you know?"
"Darling, I'm your best friend. I can tell just by looking at your eyes," she said, and I pouted.
"So, you are going to spend your whole day with him, huh?" she said teasingly, and I nodded bashfully.
"But what do you need my help with?"
"Well, as you know, I haven't gone on a date for ages, so I don't know what to do, what to wear, or how to behave; particularly, I don't know anything," I said.
"You don't need to know how to behave, just be yourself, and as for what to wear, I will help you. As for what to do when you are with him, do what your heart tells you. I know that you are nervous, but everything will go well, ok?" she said, and I nodded.
"And your date is tomorrow. We have plenty of time to prepare for it."
"And one more thing. I'm not telling my family about this until my relationship with him has a name. Until, we are in a serious relationship. So, tomorrow I'm spending the day with you, okay?"
"Understood."
"Jenny, I didn't make a wrong decision, right?" I asked her scaredly. She smiled at me and said,
"No, you didn't. You deserve to be loved, deserve to be cherished, and deserve to be treated like a queen. And he will do that. Because I saw him looking at you like you are his most precious possession. So, you are right in giving him a chance." Her words make me feel warm.
"What if he doesn't like me after he gets to know about my past?"
"If he truly loves you, he will love you despite your past, got it?" she said, and I nodded.
We chatted for a while, and she went through my wardrobe to find a suitable dress for tomorrow, but in her opinion, she didn't find anything and dragged me to the shopping mall. She made me try every single dress until she found the perfect dress for me. After buying the dress, we had our lunch and went home. She planned to stay at my house tonight. At night, we had our dinner and went to bed. As I lay on my bed, I got a text from Alexander.
Alexander: A few more hours. Good night, butterfly.
I smiled and sent.
Me: Good night.
Jenny and I chatted for a while and went to sleep. Jenny woke me up at six, saying I needed to get ready. I took a scented bath, dried my hair, and wore the dress we bought. It's an off-white sleeveless high-neck dress that falls onto my knees. I did simple makeup and looked at Jenny for her approval.
"You are looking pretty," she said.
I sent a text to Alexander to pick me up in the park near my house. Alexander said he would be there in a few minutes. Jenny picked a nude heel with an ankle strap for me. I wore it, and we made our way downstairs. I told Mom that we would be having a day out today and having our breakfast outside. At first, she didn't agree, but with Jenny, assuring her that she would take care of me, she agreed.
We made our way to the park. Upon reaching there, my heart started thumping as I saw Alexander waiting for me while leaning on his car. He is wearing a black tuxedo. His hair was perfectly styled, and his hands were in his pocket. He is looking hot as always. He always wears black, and it made me wonder what he would look like in other colors. When he saw me, he stood up and flashed me his beautiful smile. We went to him, and he frowned when he saw Jenny with me.
"Don't worry, Mr. Moretti. I'm just here to give my friend to you. Please take good care of her," Jenny said.
"I will," he said in his deep voice.
Jenny whispered all the best in my ear and left. He opened the car door and took out a bouquet of lilies from inside.
"For my pretty butterfly," he said, and gave the bouquet to me. I blushed at his words and took them from him, and muttered, Thank you.
"Shall we go?" he said, and I nodded.
He opened the passenger door for me, and I went inside. I took a deep breath and said to myself, It will go well. Everything will go well.
