Chapter 150 - Chapter 149.1 : Dalzollene Dead??

From Dalzollene's perspective, the scene unfolded like this:

A man in a black robe, wearing a bird-beak mask, flew low across the sloping lawn like a bat. The three guards who tried to stop him were knocked over in an instant.

They were literally "overturned."

The guards had no idea what had happened. One moment they were on the ground, the next, they were airborne, spinning in confusion before crashing back down. Some were dazed, others suffered broken bones, all left groaning in pain.

The other guards raised their guns, but the man was moving too fast. They couldn't even get a clear sight on him, let alone shoot.

It was at this point that the blond young man finally made his move.

His chains lashed out from the shadows again, but this time they were more fierce and aggressive, as if they carried the weight of punishment.

And they did.

Kurapika had no intention of holding back anymore. Every strike, every tightening of his chains, was a release of his anger.

The guards were overwhelmed. Guns were knocked from their hands, and they were struck on their heads, necks, torsos, and limbs. Falling in pain was often the least of their worries—some were hit so hard they vomited blood.

Dalzollene watched in shock as more than a dozen guards were taken down by the two men, falling like dominoes. His eyes widened in disbelief.

Then, the man in the bird-beak mask charged toward him.

Dalzollene didn't have time to think. He swallowed nervously, forced himself to stay calm, and clapped his hands together. As he separated them, he pulled out a gray-white oil canvas, shaking it out with a loud snap.

"Come on!" he yelled, trying to muster courage. He swung his right hand like a hook, reaching for his target.

[Conjuration: Sealing Canvas]!

His right hand could only grab living beings, dragging them into the canvas in his left hand—a special sealed space.

Dalzollene's ability was somewhat like Shizuku's "Blinky".

Once someone was trapped inside, there was no escape. It was like a one-hit kill technique, similar to some nen-based abilities. Anyone caught would struggle until they merged with the canvas, eventually becoming part of a twisted, eerie oil painting.

Dalzollene had used this power many times, and it had always worked.

But Germain, being a master Conjurer himself, quickly understood Dalzollene's attack pattern. He opted for the simplest counter: don't make contact with him, not even through a weapon.

Germain gave his cane a shake, and like magic, it vanished. In its place, a flamethrower conjured in his hands. He lifted it, aiming the nozzle directly at Dalzollene.

With a loud whoosh, flames erupted, licking hungrily at both Dalzollene's clothes and the conjured canvas nearby.

Dalzollene was caught completely off guard, overwhelmed with shock and fear.

He never anticipated that his opponent would have fire-based abilities, and by the time he realized it, the flames had already engulfed most of his body.

The intense heat and searing pain hit him all at once.

Unable to stay calm any longer, Dalzollene let out a terrified scream and fell to the ground, frantically rolling from side to side in a desperate attempt to extinguish the fire.

After a moment, he gathered himself and thought of escaping—rushing toward the riverbank to jump into the Theodore River, just as Linssen had done earlier.

But before he could reach the water, just two or three meters away, Dalzollene collapsed. The flames continued to devour him mercilessly.

He stopped moving.

Meanwhile, Neon was already seated in a black car.

She stared out the window at the distant fireball, her face gradually paling.

Beside her, the maid Eliza urged frantically, "Harvey, drive! Hurry!"

The driver, Harvey, who sat behind the wheel, quickly responded. He placed the bottle containing the Scarlet Eyes on the passenger seat, shifted the car into gear, and pressed the clutch, ready to turn the key.

But just then, as if a storm had swept in, the back door of the car burst open with a violent slam!

Eliza, sitting beside Neon, screamed as she was suddenly flung from the car, vanishing into the night.

In the next breath, a man wearing a bird-beak mask slid into the back seat.

He sat there in silence, first casting a glance at Neon, then at Harvey, before his eyes finally landed on the Scarlet Eyes in the bottle.

Neon stared at him, completely forgetting about Dalzollene and Eliza, and screamed in terror.

Harvey, still with his hand on the car keys, glanced at the rearview mirror. The sight of the masked man in the backseat felt like something out of a nightmare. He froze in fear.

Then, the driver's side door swung open, and Harvey was yanked out of the car.

The one pulling him out was Kurapika.

Without anyone noticing, Germain and Kurapika had taken down more than a dozen guards from the Nostrade family—some dead, others injured.

Kurapika entered the room and saw Neon holding her head, screaming in terror.

Neon looked at Germain and Kurapika with wide eyes, as if she was seeing the world in a completely new way.

Kurapika glanced at Neon in disgust, then noticed something in the passenger seat: the Scarlet Eyes. He froze.

Finally...

Kurapika crawled over, carefully picking up the bottle containing the Scarlet Eyes, examining them solemnly.
