There were two rooms in the suite, one for Germain and one for Kurapika.
After finishing dinner, Kurapika completed his basic training in "Ten, Zetsu, Ren and Hatsu" under Germain's guidance. Now it was time to rest.
Both had taken their showers and were about to head back to their rooms when they heard some commotion. It sounded like an argument happening out in the hallway, and it was getting pretty heated.
They exchanged glances, curiosity piqued, and moved closer to listen.
Then, they heard a woman scream.
---
"I—don't—want it!"
Neon Nostrade, daughter of the Nostrade family, stomped her thick-soled heels angrily, causing loud tapping noises. Her long dress swayed as she threw a tantrum.
"Miss..." A maid in a kimono stepped forward, trying to calm her down.
"Ahhh!"
Neon shrieked in frustration, covering her ears with her hands.
"I'm not listening! I have to go to the deal tomorrow! I need to see for myself if those are the 'Scarlet Eyes of the Kurta Clan'! None of you can stop me!"
The maid, Eliza, stepped back in surprise. She turned around with an awkward look, glancing at a tall man standing nearby.
The tall man, Dalzollene, gave her a nod, signaling her to step aside.
Dalzollene was in charge of protecting Miss Neon. Seeing the situation, he stepped forward, trying to soften his usually serious expression with a forced smile.
"Miss, it's not necessary for you to go personally. We can easily verify whether they're really the 'Scarlet Eyes'..."
"I'm not listening! I won't listen!" Neon shouted, still covering her ears, eyes shut tightly, shaking her head in disgust.
"Miss, we don't want you to be in danger..."
But Neon stubbornly yelled, "I don't care! I'm going, and no one can stop me!"
Dalzollene frowned but knew there was nothing he could do to reason with her. He sighed and said, "Please wait. I'll contact the boss."
Her father, who was currently meeting with the Ten Dons, the heads of the mafia world, was on an island about an hour's drive and half-hour boat ride away.
Neon had found out about the Scarlet Eyes in advance, so she had tagged along on this trip, hoping to split from the group to investigate on her own.
Dalzollene, feeling helpless with the situation, decided to bring up her father, the only one who could control her.
Neon ignored him, continuing to yell like a spoiled child, refusing to calm down until she got her way.
By this point, people in the hallway had started opening their doors to see what was happening, clearly irritated by the noise, but not brave enough to tell her to stop.
When the neighbors saw a group of men in black suits with serious expressions standing next to the screaming girl, they quickly shrank back and closed their doors.
"It's better to avoid trouble when you can," they thought.
In a quiet corner, Dalzollene made a phone call. After a brief conversation, he handed the phone to Miss Neon. "Miss, it's the boss."
"It's no use calling him!" Neon huffed, placing her hands on her hips in frustration. But after a moment, she softened and took the phone. "Hello, Dad..."
Light Nostrade, on the other end, spoke to Neon for a long time, gradually calming her down.
Even though she nodded in agreement several times, Neon refused to back down on one issue — going to the auction tomorrow.
"Dad, I *have* to go! One of the Seven Beauties is going to be there, and it's the treasure I want most… No, your birthday gift for me was lovely too... But please, let me go!"
"It's one of my few hobbies, you know that... My collection room is only missing a pair of those Scarlet Eyes... If you don't let me go, I'll find a way to go on my own..."
"But... you're always busy with work. You don't spend time with me... You only remember me when you need my 'Lovely Ghostwriter'... Hmph, I don't care... Really?"
"Yeah… Thank you, Dad!"
Neon cheerfully handed the phone back to Dalzollene with a playful wink, sticking her tongue out.
"Dad said I can go!" She grinned at Dalzollene.
Dalzollene respectfully accepted the phone with both hands. After speaking to Boss Light for a while longer, he finally nodded. "Don't worry, Boss. We won't stray from her, and we'll return as soon as the transaction is complete."
After hanging up, he sighed, then straightened up and addressed Neon. "Miss, the transaction will take place tomorrow night at 7. Please get a good night's rest."
"Yeah, I know! I know!" Neon, now much happier, skipped off toward her room, her hands clasped in excitement.
"Great, tomorrow I'll finally get to see the legendary Scarlet Eyes! I've heard that even though the original owner has been dead for years, the eyes still shine as brightly as ever. They must be stunning!"
She looked every bit the innocent, excited girl.
Her maid, Eliza, hurried to follow.
Meanwhile, Dalzollene ordered the guards to stay close. The men in suits surrounded Neon, giving her just enough space to walk freely without straying too far from their protection.
