At that moment, Germain felt it was his duty as a "beast hunter" to name the creature. He said, "I think we should call it 'Nightmare Leopard.' What do you think?"
The other three were surprised by Germain's decision. They hadn't expected him to suggest a name, and with the enemy right in front of them, Bisky, Menchi, and Buhara didn't have time to argue. They agreed to use the name for now.
The "Nightmare Leopard" jumped down from the shore of the "Dry Valley," landing quietly with only a soft "puff" sound despite its large size.
Bisky pointed at the Nightmare Leopard and said, "Its structure is very unusual. Look at its 'hair'; it resembles flowing flames and rising smoke."
As Bisky spoke, the "Nightmare Leopard" shook its massive body almost silently. The 'hair' that had looked like flowing water grass fell off.
When the 'hair' touched the ground, it transformed into small "Nightmare Leopards," each about the same size as Germain and Menchi.
These small Nightmare Leopards spread out in a fan shape, resembling twisted ghosts in the dark night.
Germain recognized the situation immediately.
"It looks like the Dark Nightmare Leopard uses abilities similar to the Emission and Manipulation techniques, much like Morel's Deep Purple."
When Morel summoned the "Deep Purple Squadron," it was a similar scenario.
"So, our main goal is to destroy the main body. Those smaller creatures are just distractions."
Bisky quickly agreed.
"Germain, you and I will be the main attackers. Menchi and Buhara, you handle the smaller ones. Is that okay?"
Menchi and Buhara had no objections.
After setting up a basic plan, the "Little Nightmares" attacked like a pack of wolves, their combined growls forming a mournful tune.
Buhara led the charge, picking up a large rock and hurling it at the enemies, crushing several "Little Nightmares." He then used his broad palm to smash a few more.
Menchi took cover behind Buhara, using him as a shield.
Two machetes flew from her control, their blades flashing as they sliced several "Little Nightmares" in half.
Having been partners for years, Buhara and Menchi moved in sync, slowly advancing to clear a path for Germain and Bisky.
Once a path was cleared, Germain and Bisky didn't hesitate. They leaped over Menchi and Buhara, leaving them surrounded by "Little Nightmares," and charged straight toward the "Nightmare Leopard."
Bisky, now transformed into a towering figure, swung her fists like hammers but missed the "Nightmare Leopard."
The "Dark Nightmare Leopard" darted aside with incredible speed, evading the attack.
Germain and Bisky adjusted their approach. Germain, with his cane transformed into a long whip, lashed out at the "Nightmare Leopard."
The whip struck the "Dark Nightmare Leopard," causing it to vanish like mist, leaving only an afterimage before fleeing into the distance.
"That's fast," Bisky murmured, then called out, "Germain, keep up! I'll try to draw its attention, and you take care of it."
Germain nodded in agreement. "Got it."
They pursued the leopard. Despite their speed and expertise in Nen, they couldn't catch it.
The leopard zigzagged through the shadows, dodging every attack from Germain and Bisky.
Suddenly, it appeared next to the campfire. With a swipe of its massive claws, the campfire burst into bright sparks and then faded away.
The surroundings grew even darker, with only the faint moonlight left, soon to be covered by dark clouds.
In the gloom, the sounds of Menchi and Buhara fighting the "Little Dark Nightmare" could be heard, like waves crashing against rocks.
Germain, though he couldn't see clearly, could sense the "Nightmare Leopard's" position with his "En," but its speed made it hard for him to keep up.
He noticed that Bisky, who was within his "En," had intentionally abandoned her defense, which surprised him.
Then, with a "puff," Bisky was struck by a claw on her back, and blood flew into the air.
She fell forward, in intense pain, and quickly turned around to see a dark shadow descending upon her.
If you can't match the enemy's speed, don't chase them. Instead, slow down and let the enemy come to you. Use yourself as bait.
Bisky saw a silver flash.
Germain tore into the Dark Night from the side, attacking the "Nightmare Leopard's" head with his Cleaver.
The explosion of the attack covered him in blood.
The "Nightmare Leopard" didn't howl in pain but kept shaking its head, indicating it did feel pain.
Germain's "cane" was deeply embedded in the "Nightmare Leopard's" flesh, and he clung to it firmly.
The "Nightmare Leopard" shook again, causing many "Little Nightmares" to fall from its fur and attack Germain.
Germain swung the "Cleaver" left and right, chopping down enemies one by one.
Bisky got up, ready to help, but saw that it wasn't working. The "Nightmare Leopard" rushed forward with Germain, and they quickly moved away from Bisky, flying along the valley's stone wall.
Germain still couldn't shake it off. His "Cleaver" had vanished, and he was now holding a "cane" in both hands.
The "Nightmare Leopard" suddenly stopped and swiped at Germain with its claws.
Germain twisted his "cane" and let go with one hand, falling to the ground just in time to dodge the leopard's claws.
The "cane" transformed into a long whip again.
Germain grabbed the leopard's extended jaw and used the momentum to swing around and land on the other side of it.
A shotgun blast hit the leopard in its other eye, making it lower its head in pain.
Germain took the chance to land on the leopard's head and immediately used "a section of the air bar."
The "cane" turned into a huge spear, which Germain drove into the leopard's skull.
Despite this, the "cane" didn't completely pierce through, getting stuck inside the leopard's head.
A group of "Little Nightmares" appeared behind Germain. As he was knocked down by them, the "cane" stirred and scrambled the leopard's brain.
Soon, the previously fierce "Little Nightmares" vanished completely.
The enormous "Dark Nightmare Leopard" finally collapsed, hitting the ground with a heavy bang for the first time.
