Chapter 115 - Chapter 117 : Threaded Cane!!

Germain materialized a "Threaded Cane" in his hand and moved with incredible speed, stabbing the sharp end into the gangster's forehead with a swift "whoosh!" The gangster was instantly killed.

Blood poured from the gangster's forehead. As he was falling and everyone's attention shifted, Germain quickly withdrew the "Threaded Cane" and continued his attack.

With a strange clicking sound, a long whip suddenly emerged from the "Threaded Cane," writhing like a black snake.

Germain became a blur in the hall.

Before the remaining twelve gangsters could react, he swung the long whip, striking them on the heads and blowing their heads off one by one!

Snap, snap, snap—

In an instant, all twelve gangsters were left without their heads, and a cloud of blood mist filled the air! If they had been hit elsewhere, the gangsters might have had a chance to raise their rifles and shoot, but with their brains shattered, they had no chance at all.

There was actually a sequence to Germain's headshots.

But from the perspective of everyone in the hall, the gangsters' heads seemed to explode simultaneously with an inexplicable popping sound!

The crowd watched in shock as the headless gangsters fell one by one. Then they noticed a figure in a black robe and a bird-beak mask standing among the corpses.

He did it. This realization hit everyone.

Although it was unbelievable, all thirteen criminals had been killed instantly by this strange figure! The onlookers were stunned, holding their breath and unsure of how to react.

Kurapika, watching from the crowd, was breathing rapidly.

He had been focused on figuring out how to rescue the hostages and hadn't even seen how this person did it. But it was already over!

Who is this person, and how did he manage to do this? These criminals didn't even have time to fire a single shot. How fast was this?

"Who is the captain and his flight crew?" At this moment, the man in the bird-beak mask spoke with a surprisingly young male voice. "Follow me."

Without waiting to see if anyone followed, he walked straight towards the cockpit. His attitude was cold and arrogant, but no one dared to disobey him now.

The captain and co-pilot exchanged glances, whispered briefly, and then, trembling, they got up from the crowd and quickly followed him.

After a while, the masked man returned holding Somerset's head. The captain and co-pilot remained in the cockpit, regained control of the airship, and immediately contacted the ground to report the situation.

The masked man, Germain, threw Somerset's head among the corpses on the ground, then turned and left without a second glance.

After he left, people started talking, but no one dared to step forward to confront him or ask questions. Everyone was too afraid to even breathe.

Eventually, things calmed down.

The survivors began crying with relief, hugging their relatives and friends.

Kurapika was alone, without anyone to share his feelings with. He took a step forward but then hesitated.

Finally, he hurried after the masked man.

There must be some secret about that person that I don't know yet. I will never regret my hesitation today.

Kurapika watched as the man in the black robe and bird-beak mask entered a luxurious private room and shut the door.

He approached the room, swallowed nervously, stood there for a moment, and then knocked gently on the door.

"Come in," came the voice of the man with the bird-beak mask from inside the room. "The door is unlocked."

Kurapika took a deep breath, turned the handle, and walked in.

The room was dimly lit, and it felt as if he had entered the gaping maw of a massive beast ready to consume its prey.

Beautiful, pure music filled the room, accompanied by a mechanical female voice softly speaking.

Kurapika glanced around and saw that the man with the bird-beak mask was sitting cross-legged on a cushion, holding a controller, and focusing intently on a video game cutscene displayed on the screen.

Kurapika was taken aback. After the recent crisis and quickly dispatching fourteen gangsters, this man seemed completely unfazed, casually playing a game as if nothing had happened.

Was the earlier incident so insignificant to him?

Kurapika felt he was dealing with an exceptionally peculiar individual, and this was precisely what he needed.

Over the years, in addition to gathering information about the "Phantom Troupe," Kurapika had also devoted himself to mastering various martial arts, with his strongest technique being the "two-sword style."

He had come to Itero City to meet a swordsman, aiming to practice and refine his sword skills in preparation for a future confrontation with the "Phantom Troupe."

However, his wooden sword was in his checked luggage, rendering him unable to use his "two-sword style" as he had chosen the path of kendo.

Despite this, even with two swords, he might not have been able to eliminate all the criminals instantly and save lives.

Yet, the man before him had achieved just that, with his weapon flashing and vanishing like magic.

Kurapika was deeply intrigued by how this man had accomplished it. He had a feeling that the answer would defy his understanding of the world.

The man was willing to give Kurapika the answer he sought. Kurapika knew well that nothing came for free; he'd never seen it happen. He would need to pay for what he wanted.

The man with the bird-beak mask didn't seem surprised that Kurapika had followed him. He took out another game controller, handed it to Kurapika, shook it, and signaled him to take it.

"I don't play games," Kurapika said, not taking the controller.

"That's not an option," Germain said firmly, placing the controller on the ground. "You can leave now."

Kurapika was taken aback. He hadn't expected the man in front of him to have such an odd personality. After a moment of hesitation, he sat down cross-legged and picked up the controller.

Seeing that Kurapika was willing to play, Germain selected a two-player game, showed him some basic controls, and then started playing.

Kurapika had been focused on his quest for revenge for years and had no interest or time for games. However, as a skilled fighter, he had sharp memory and reflexes. He gradually got into the game and, after a few minutes, was no longer a hindrance to Germain.

When the airship landed smoothly at the airport, it was surrounded by police, airport staff, family members, and reporters who had rushed to the scene.

Soon, the reporters were all cleared out before they could take many photos.

The passengers on the airship were not released immediately; they had to be questioned one by one.

But when Kurapika saw the man with the bird-beak mask show a card to the police, their expressions changed.
