Watching Germain's back disappear around the corner, Knuckle, who was always quick to tears, couldn't hold back any longer. He hugged Shoot's right shoulder, crying out, "Germain... he's a real man!"
"Knuckle..." Shoot looked helpless, but then someone hugged his left shoulder too. It was Teacher Morel, who was also in tears.
"Yes, a real man," Morel sobbed.
Morel and Knuckle clung to Shoot, crying in front of the hospital gate, attracting a crowd. People who didn't know the situation might think they had lost a loved one.
Shoot was used to this scene. Morel and Knuckle were a typical "like teacher, like disciple" pair, overly sentimental.
Leaving aside Morel and his apprentice for now, Germain got into a taxi alone. He took out his phone and sent a text to the "exorcist" Abengane.
After all this time, it was time to "clear the thoughts."
Abengane quickly replied, "No problem," and asked about the time and place, mentioning he could "clear the Nen Curse" anytime and that it would be even better with some preparation.
Germain was a bit puzzled. In their previous two exorcisms, Abengane hadn't been this enthusiastic. Why was he acting differently this time?
He didn't think much of it. After confirming the time and place, Abengane replied right away, agreeing.
Soon after, Germain got out of the taxi at the airport and bought an airship ticket to Itero City, where he had arranged to meet Abengane.
However, when buying a ticket in the airport lobby, he unexpectedly saw a familiar figure.
A young man with short golden hair, wearing a blue ethnic costume with gold edges that looked like a bulletproof vest. The back of his outfit bulged, revealing two wooden swords.
Kurapika?
How could I meet him here?
Kurapika was at the front of the line. He bought a plane ticket and walked to the luggage transfer counter, choosing to check in the wooden swords. The airship had fewer restrictions, so the wooden swords could be checked in.
Germain saw this and felt a little surprised, but not entirely.
Kurapika must have never given up searching for information about the Phantom Troupe, traveling around the world. So it was only a matter of time before they ran into each other.
After some observation, Germain discovered that Kurapika's flight destination was the same as his: Itero City.
However, Kurapika was not coming for Germain, as he failed to notice Germain's gaze from beginning to end. This meeting was most likely accidental.
Kurapika is still too young now; after all, he lacks the most important piece of the puzzle, "Nen ability."
Germain had no intention of contacting him but instead used his "Hunter License Privileges" to avoid all the tedious inspections and get a plane ticket to a luxury single room.
In the terminal hall, Germain saw Kurapika again.
Kurapika had already checked in the two wooden swords and was sitting on a metal chair with his arms folded across his chest, looking calm.
When Germain walked by, he attracted a lot of attention with his bird-beak mask on, including Kurapika.
However, when they saw Germain entering the luxurious waiting room, everyone looked away again, thinking that rich people have such strange interests.
Kurapika didn't take this man seriously either.
Half an hour later, everyone boarded the airship.
The airship slowly turned its propeller, took off from the airport, and rose into the blue sky.
Under the guidance of the stewardess, Germain entered the luxurious single room. The stewardess bowed respectfully, asked if he had any other requests, then closed the door and left.
He first placed his suitcase beside the bed, then walked over to the refrigerator. Ignoring the high prices on the labels, he grabbed a can of iced Coke and some snacks, and sat down at the tea table.
"Slurp—" Germain opened the Coke, took a sip, and felt a jolt on his tongue. It was as if his brain was waking up.
He noticed an LCD screen in front of him, with a game console and four controllers next to it. He removed his boots, sat cross-legged on the cushion, and turned on the monitor and console.
Germain found some games that were similar to those in his original world but not exactly the same. He could start playing right away, and there were rankings from previous passengers on the menu.
He picked up a controller, selected a game, and started playing.
Germain had come to this world after playing "Bloodborne" all night. He was so exhausted that he fell asleep, and when he woke up, he was here.
It was intriguing to think that he, who had the "power of Nen," was now playing a real-life game with only one life. He couldn't be revived, couldn't stop, and couldn't save his progress.
After playing for just twenty minutes, as Germain was getting into the game, he heard a commotion outside. He quickly spread his "En" to check the situation.
The "En" didn't let him see clearly, but it was enough to outline everything within a 25-meter radius like a thermal image.
It seemed something extraordinary had happened.
Most people on the airship were panicking, screaming, and pushing each other. Meanwhile, fourteen people armed with guns were forcing everyone to gather in the hall.
Firearms?
How did they get those past security?
There must be a "Nen user" among them. I wonder how many?
The cockpit, guard room, staff lounge, and other areas were all under their control. The lives of everyone on the airship, both employees and passengers, now depended on their decisions.
Of course, this was ignoring Germain.
Soon, the door to the luxurious single room was slammed open, and two armed men burst in, just in time to see Germain still playing his game.
Hearing the noise, Germain turned around and looked at them, as if he had only just realized something was wrong.
"Hey!" one of the men said, noticing something odd about the man in the bird-beak mask. Despite this, he was holding a rifle and showed no fear. "Come out with us!"
Germain considered it for a moment and decided not to confront them. Instead, he saved his game, set down the controller, stood up slowly, put on his boots, and walked over to them under their watchful eyes.
"What's the matter?" Germain asked.
The two men, one on the left and one on the right, were about to press their guns to Germain's face. They didn't expect him to be so calm and to ask such a question. For a moment, they looked at each other, confused.
Then they grew a bit angry.
Rich people are like this, always acting fearless as if their wealth and power made them untouchable.
"Don't ask so many questions, just come with us!" the men ordered.
Germain did not resist.
Shouting and cursing, they pushed him out of the room and into the hall to join the others on the airship.
The hall was filled with fear and tension.
