"The second reason is because 'Herb for All-illnesses' can genuinely help many of Isaac's old friends, one of whom is me."
Granny Linne smiled kindly at everyone.
"All Nen users, as long as they don't die prematurely, can live a long life. This is because Nen can extend the health of Nen users."
"However, not all long-lived Nen users can be like Isaac or Maha Zoldyck, living over a hundred years and not only remaining physically strong but also retaining first-class combat abilities."
Maha Zoldyck is the longest-living member of the Zoldyck family. He is Zigg's father and Zeno's grandfather, with an age close to Chairman Netero.
"For example, me, I retired early from the stage of history. I can no longer fight as I did when I was in my eighties or nineties. Experience is the only sharp sword I have left..."
Granny Linne shakily raised her hand and pointed to the wrinkles on her cheek.
"By the way, do you know what the wrinkles on my face represent? They represent the countless lives I deemed worth recording and personally buried..."
Cough cough!
Menchi had to interrupt, "Granny Linne, you've already said this once..."
"Oh..." Granny Linne let out a slightly disappointed sound.
"In short, I'm not young anymore, and I have a lot of injuries and ailments. Because of this, I haven't appeared much in public for several years and then got the nickname 'the Silent Old Granny.'"
She chuckled dryly a few times.
"The 'Herb for All-illnesses' that Bisky, Menchi, and Buhara brought has helped alleviate some of my physical pain."
"If I want to properly care for my health, the best option is to retire from the 'Hunter Association' and come here, treating 'Greed Island' as a retirement home."
"I'm very grateful to all of you, and Isaac must be very thankful too, since I'm one of the few remaining partners who fought alongside him. He wouldn't want me to die so soon."
"Therefore, I came here, partly on Isaac's behalf, and partly for my own health."
"Of course, I'm not just Isaac's mouthpiece or surveillance tool. If you want to recruit some capable 'Professional Hunters,' maybe you'll find a use for an old woman like me."
Linne, the old woman, made a hand gesture, pinching her fingers together like forming a tiny universe.
"With the little bit of reputation I have left, I should be able to help you keep the situation under control and make those 'Professional Hunters,' or even some non-professional Nen users, behave."
Germain listened to this and fell into thought.
Indeed, during the time he and Bisky and the others went to the Dark Continent, the core of "Greed Island" was left empty.
Razor only focused on protecting and maintaining the order of "Greed Island." Beyond that, he never crossed any boundaries. This personality ensured he could never be the top leader.
Dwun, List, Eta, and Elena didn't have the strong presence needed for such a role.
Linne, however, had both experience and presence.
Most importantly, she had also been a member of Isaac's team who secretly went to the Dark Continent in the past, so there was no need to hide anything about the Dark Continent from her.
She knew how to balance the various forces when people like Germain and the others left "Greed Island," and when many mixed Nen users would later join. She had enough experience to deal with such problems.
Germain silently approved of Chairman Netero's choice.
Then he asked, "Linne, what's the third reason?"
"The third reason…" Linne's smile faded, "It's because of that idiot son of Isaac's."
"Before Bisky and the others came to negotiate with Isaac, Beyond found Isaac even earlier than you guys did. I'm not exactly sure what they discussed, but I'm certain it was troublesome."
"As you know, more than half of the 'Zodiac' members never appear at the 'Hunter Association' for years. They are all busy with their own matters in their respective fields."
"After Beyond left, the remaining 'Zodiac' members were assigned various tasks and set off one by one. They probably won't return for a year or more."
"Isaac knows exactly what's going on, but he didn't stop it. He knows very well that if he spoke up, those 'Zodiac' members who respect him like a father would stay."
"As long as they stay, even if only two or three of them remain, all the plots and schemes will vanish and be ineffective."
"But he didn't. Isaac seems to have already known what would happen next, and after so many years, I saw him again, full of determination."
"The clean part of the 'Hunter Association Zodiacs,' and you all, are the backup he left behind, the 'hope.'"
"He became the Chairman of the association over forty years ago and has protected your generation for more than forty years. He can't keep sheltering you under his wings forever."
"Perhaps Isaac felt it was time to bring you into the spotlight, to let you grow. And for himself, he needed to do something selfish to spend the last part of his life."
