Both sides were determined to achieve true immortality, and both sought to do so as swiftly as possible.
Quasi-rank-15 immortals are far beyond normal comprehension. They are beings of immense power, their abilities transcending what most could even begin to fathom. However, compared to true rank-15 immortals, quasi rank-15 beings are utterly insignificant. They are, at best, shadows of what true omnipotence represents.
After delving deeper into the story behind the Infinity Seed, Rachel's understanding of infinity domains underwent a complete transformation. She realized that much of what she had previously believed was fundamentally flawed. Her Gray Wisdom Omniscient mastery provided her with a sharper, albeit still imperfect, lens through which to view reality.
In the past, Rachel had been convinced that achieving true rank-15 status was contingent on merging all domains of infinity into a single, unified, all-encompassing infinity domain. This belief, however, was incomplete. There were, in fact, two distinct paths to reach rank-15. The first involved collecting all the infinity domains and merging them into one. The second was to allow an Infinity Seed to fully mature, transforming it into a fruit capable of bestowing the all-encompassing infinity domain.
While Rachel was sure that the Infinity seed existed—after all, she controlled a fragment of it—she had no evidence that any other Infinity Fruits were out there. She had searched exhaustively but had never discovered another fruit. Still, she could not entirely rule out their existence. It was a mystery she couldn't unravel, especially since she had no recollection of how she obtained the Infinity Fruit or how she ended up in her current circumstances.
One undeniable fact loomed over her: even as a quasi rank-15 being, she had blind spots. There were aspects of existence she didn't understand, mysteries that eluded her grasp. Most unsettling was her ignorance of her own origins. The only way to uncover the truth was to fix the Infinity Fruit and allow it to mature. Only by reaching actual rank 15 could she attain absolute knowledge and understanding.
The knowledge that there were realms of existence completely unknown to her was deeply unsettling. For all Rachel knew, someone else might be on the brink of maturing their own Infinity Fruit and reaching rank-15 before her. Such a scenario was her greatest fear, for it would irrevocably shift the balance of power.
Before attaining the Gray Wisdom Omnipotent Mastery, Rachel had believed that reaching quasi-rank-15 would make her utterly immortal—impervious to death in any form. She had assumed that even if a rank-15 emerged, they could not obliterate her. Now, however, she understood just how profoundly mistaken she had been. A rank-15 being, possessing true omniscience and omnipotence, would be absolutely invincible. Such a being could effortlessly strip a quasi-rank-15 of their infinity domains and erase their existence entirely. A rank 15 could bring the very concept of infinity domains out of existence.
The emergence of a rank-15 would be an absolute game-changer. It would signal the end for everyone else. A rank 15 is akin to the author of a story, while all other beings are merely characters within that story. No matter how hard the characters struggle, they can never escape the author's control. The disparity between them is not just one of power but of fundamental nature. The author possesses absolute authority, a dominion that no character can ever challenge.
Rachel's growing awareness of this existential hierarchy heightened the urgency of her deal with Luther. Their agreement revolved around creating a joint incarnation that would embody an equal blend of their respective philosophies and ideas—50% Rachel, 50% Luther.
This fusion of minds and wills would result in the creation of a being they named Luchel—a combination of Luther and Rachel. The Luchel incarnation would undergo a period of refinement and development, during which it would be granted an Infinite Physique.
Luchel, the combined incarnation, would eventually need to merge with Rachel's and Luther's primary consciousnesses. Once this merger occurred, Rachel and Luther would become integral parts of Luchel and be carried over the finish line.
However, this integration came with a cost. The resulting rank-15 Luchel would likely possess a contradictory personality due to the inherent conflicts between Rachel's and Luther's ideologies. Yet, they deemed this an acceptable risk. A rank-15 being—even one with a fractured and erratic psyche—was far more desirable than allowing another unknown entity to achieve rank-15 first.
For Rachel and Luther, there was no alternative. Their fundamental differences made other solutions impossible, and the situation's urgency left no room for hesitation. This plan, while imperfect, was their only path forward.
...
The process of creating Luchel began swiftly. Rachel carefully separated a fragment of pure will from her mind, an act requiring intense focus and precision. Luther did the same. The two fragments were then merged into a single nascent consciousness. Unsurprisingly, the combined will was riddled with contradictions. Rachel's and Luther's opposing natures clashed violently, creating an unstable, discordant entity.
To address this disharmony, Rachel and Luther worked cooperatively to refine the new consciousness. This arduous process involved balancing their conflicting ideas and philosophies, gradually harmonizing them into a single cohesive entity; Luchel's central consciousness has to be cohesive; otherwise, it may not be able to hold the infinity fruit.
After painstaking effort, a homogeneous consciousness began to take shape—one that reflected both Rachel's and Luther's wills, yet was distinct from either of them.
This new consciousness was not merely a subordinate extension of Rachel or Luther. It was its own independent being, capable of making decisions and acting autonomously. After carefully examining the newly formed consciousness, both Rachel and Luther nodded in satisfaction. They understood the importance of this stage: Luchel's consciousness would be the guiding force behind the Infinite Body and would ultimately inherit the complete Infinity Fruit.
With Luther's assistance, Rachel undertook the task of creating a perfect Infinite Body to house Luchel. Once the body was complete, they carefully placed Luchel's consciousness within it. Afterward, they gave Luchel time to acclimate to its new form.
When everything was ready, Rachel and Luther retrieved their respective pieces of the Infinity Seed to present to Luchel.
Retrieving her fragment posed little difficulty for Rachel, as it was located within the Gray Realm—a domain that was, in essence, her injured former body. She held the keys to the Gray Realm, granting her effortless access.
The Infinity Seed was unlike anything physical or tangible. It was a concept, a metaphysical construct beyond the comprehension of mortals and even most immortals. Rank-14 beings could not perceive or interact with it, as it existed on a plane far beyond their understanding. One must have mastered at least one omniscient dao to even glimpse the Infinity Seed. To touch it, an infinite domain was required.
Rachel and Luther had the qualifications to see and handle the Infinity Seed. Luchel, however, did not yet have an infinite domain, which presented a significant challenge. Without the ability to wield an infinite domain, Luchel could see the Infinity Seed but could not receive it.
Fortunately, Rachel and Luther had anticipated this issue. They separated their controlling consciousnesses and entered the Infinite Body of Luchel. By doing so, they relinquished control of their infinite domains to Luchel. This solution allowed Luchel to utilize their domains to interact with and receive the Infinity Seed.
Once the Infinity Seed was successfully integrated into Luchel's consciousness and body, the final stage of their plan was complete. Rachel and Luther could only wait now as Luchel prepared to take the ultimate step toward rank 15.
With the complete Infinity Seed now in its possession, Luchel's journey to transcendence was entering its final phase. The seed required time to integrate and merge fully within Luchel's essence. Once this process was complete, the seed would mature, producing the ultimate and complete infinity domain—a domain encompassing all aspects of existence.
Upon receiving this perfected domain, Luchel would ascend to the elusive rank 15. This level of power was more than just an enhancement; it was a fundamental transformation. A rank-15 being was invincible, omniscient, and omnipotent, standing above all creation with absolute authority.
Luchel's ascension to rank 15 wouldn't occur in isolation. Rachel's and Luther's consciousnesses that entered to help it interact with the seed would also transcend with it. However, this shared ascension came with its risks. Only a single rank-15 being could exist. For Rachel and Luther, this meant their transcendence could only happen as part of Luchel's being.
In practical terms, Rachel and Luther would be at the mercy of Luchel's controlling consciousness. Luchel would hold ultimate power over its composite parts. If it so desired, Luchel could effortlessly erase Rachel's and Luther's consciousnesses, leaving no trace of their existence.
High-ranking beings, especially those at rank 10 and above, often developed multiple distinct consciousnesses or personalities. Even some mortals exhibited this phenomenon, though on a much smaller scale. Despite the presence of multiple consciousnesses, there was always a primary controlling will. This dominant consciousness held the reins of power, while the others existed in a subordinate state.
For lower-ranking beings, the controlling consciousness might lack the ability to erase or fully suppress the other personalities. Even many powerful beings of rank 10 and above succumbed to madness due to the relentless conflict between their internal personalities.
In Luchel's case, its controlling consciousness would wield the entirety of the infinity domain, granting it absolute authority. As the holder of the rank-15's power, it would be omniscient and omnipotent, capable of doing anything it wished—including erasing Rachel and Luther.
Despite this inherent risk, Rachel and Luther had placed their faith in Luchel. They had worked tirelessly to shape Luchel's personality and guiding principles, ensuring it wouldn't betray them. Even in the worst-case scenario—should Luchel choose to erase their consciousnesses—it would still embody a perfect fusion of their wills. In that sense, they would live on within Luchel, achieving a kind of symbolic victory.
Moreover, the alternative—waiting for an unknown entity to mature an Infinity Seed and reach rank 15 first—was far more dangerous and unpredictable. Any such entity would have no ties to Rachel or Luther and could potentially annihilate them without hesitation. Creating Luchel was a gamble, but it was one that heavily favored their survival and success.
...
With everything in place, Luchel closed its eyes and focused inward, beginning the natural process of allowing the Infinity Seed to reintegrate and heal. This process was organic and could not be rushed, no matter how powerful Luchel or its creators were.
