The demon assistant swiftly prepared the letter; that was the easy part. The hard part of the mission was preparing a vehicle that could safely transport so many tiny humans.
In the end, through the use of some spells, they created a large box and placed all the tiny humans inside. No demon was allowed in the box for fear that they would be tempted to take a few small bites; it must be said that tiny humans are the most tempting food for demons.
The tiny humans in the box were kept fed through a feeding formation. They were also regularly cleaned and kept at a comfortable temperature, all through the use of magic.
A day later, a group of four demon sergeants began carrying the box to the Human Civilization's station. The station's location was no secret; the Fiery Sun City knew exactly where it was.
...
Mage Wide Vision read the report; the content was so unbelievable that his eyes nearly popped out.
"Is this legit? You expect me to believe it?" Wide Vision asked the agent who brought the letter.
Mage Wide Vision had fled from Hard Summer City a year ago. Back home, they praised his performance and promoted him, appointing him as the leader of this large station. Now, he commands over 200 agents.
"Sir, there is no doubt about it. This report is the truth!" The agent was also shocked when she read the letter, so she had already confirmed it.
Not all letters are worthy of Wide Vision's attention. For this reason, the deputy leader of the station, the woman beside Wide Vision right now, reads the reports and only presents those that are too important to be decided on at her level to Wide Vision. She was handpicked by Wide Vision and is trusted by him.
"Demons bringing babies in a big box as a show of... goodwill? Are demons showing goodwill to us humans? Are you serious?" Wide Vision thought his brain might be overheating.
"Are there real babies in that box?" he asked.
The agent, named Rose, said, "I already checked it personally; there's no doubt about it. There are around 800 children in the box!"
"We have to save them, then. No matter what plot the demons are planning, we cannot let anything happen to those babies. Agree to their proposition; we will meet them at the agreed time and location," Widevision ordered.
Rose, who had a similar thought process, responded, "Yes, sir."
...
The two sides negotiated and picked a location.
The chosen location was built through the joint cooperation of humans and demons. Each side set up teleportation formations as a way to escape immediately if necessary. After all, the two sides had been fighting to kill each other just a year ago; there was no trust in each other's 'goodwill.'
...
"An alliance? This is really unprecedented; an alliance of demons and humans is... unusual, to say the least," Wide Vision remarked.
"Yeah, it's quite unusual, right? But who cares? It should be possible if both of us want the same thing: taking revenge on Skyfire!" said Fiery Pepper. As a demon, It knew many spells, including a translation spell, so It had no issue communicating with humans.
"Revenge on Skyfire? Your honor is quite ambitious. Human civilization would love to see Skyfire's demise, but let me be clear: we would not be on the front lines in the event of a war. We would retreat and defend from behind our walls," said Wide Vision. He had already thought deeply about how to talk with Fiery Pepper. Lying and deceiving wouldn't work and would risk angering this strange demon; the only option was honesty.
"As expected of humans, always hiding and defending," Fiery Pepper shook its head.
"It doesn't matter. I'm not trying to go head-to-head with Skyfire; what I want from you is intelligence support. I know you guys have a lot of stations; grant me access to them. I will start an uprising against Skyfire and disrupt her flesh operations, which I assume is what you guys would like to see, too. I am confident that I can at least run from her. I can create such a headache for her that she would curse herself for her stupidity of ignoring me like that!" said Fiery Pepper with hatred.
Wide Vision could only nod. The deal was extremely favorable; humans would lose nothing and gain a lot. It was so good that he couldn't even come up with any demands.
"We have a deal!" Wide Vision smiled.
"Great. I have brought your big humans; they're in that box. I leave them behind as another show of goodwill. My assistant will discuss the details," said Fiery Pepper.
...
Time is the most valuable asset, constantly shrinking.
Very soon, a year passed.
During the last year, Fiery Pepper has been very busy.
Demon King Skyfire has many assets worldwide. Most of them are human farms, while some are flesh laboratories. Their locations are generally well-kept secrets, but with human civilization's powerful intelligence capabilities, nothing can remain hidden for long.
Knowing the locations and details about the number of demon guards, Fiery Pepper attacked and conquered over 10 human farms and 2 flesh labs.
Every time Fiery Pepper conquered a human farm, human civilization freed the people inside and rewarded Fiery Pepper with 100 energy crystals per person. As for the labs, the reward was higher, directly rewarding one million energy stones per lab destroyed and 200 per child saved.
For human civilization, labs were the epitome of evil. The demons there boiled and 'processed' literal newborn babies, creating a mold out of them. Then, they added a secret 'flavor' to it, let it dry, and turned it into a fine powder. The resulting product was high-quality flesh. Destroying the flesh labs was a priority, mainly because nearly all non-psychopath humans would be horrified after hearing what demons did in the labs.
Human farms are terrible, too; they 'breed' humans to provide the 'main materials' necessary for the flesh. But still, compared to literally boiling newborns, human farms are less horrible.
Unfortunately for human civilization, the flesh labs are well protected. During the last year, Fiery Pepper only destroyed two of Skyfire's smallest labs. To really damage the flesh business, there are only two ways: the first is to destroy all human farms to stop the flow of 'main materials'; the second is to invest a huge amount of military resources to help Fiery Pepper invade the larger labs.
Human civilization wisely chose the first option; after all, the second one would be too risky and wouldn't be as effective as cutting off the supply of 'main materials.'
Fiery Pepper is very powerful; not even demon kings can afford to place demons as pure-blooded as Fiery Pepper in every human farm. Furthermore, Fiery Pepper always attacks those stations with the weakest protective force, so overall, the success rate over the last year was over 90%.
Every time they attacked one of the labs, they inevitably obtained a lot of high-quality flesh. Any flesh captured during attacks belonged to Fiery Pepper. Even though humans are disgusted by the mere existence of flesh, they recognize that there is no way to turn the flesh back into babies. There is no point in destroying it. By giving it to Fiery Pepper, they can give the demon extra drive to attack and destroy more labs, which would, in turn, indirectly save a lot of babies from being boiled alive.
There are around 20 flesh labs belonging to Skyfire, but over 1,500 human farms! One must not underestimate the desire of demons to obtain high-quality flesh; the demand is high, and producing enough of it is difficult. After all, newborn babies have just a tiny bit of meat; it takes 5 babies to have enough 'materials' to create enough flesh for just one dose. Even with that many human farms, the Skyfire Demon King is still struggling to satisfy the needs of its 5,000 customers, most of whom require at least one dose per day.
Skyfire was already struggling with supply chain problems, and at this time, Fiery Pepper started attacking the farms, further damaging the supply of 'main materials.' This caused some labs' production lines to stop as they ran out of babies. This angered Skyfire, who was extremely annoyed at Fiery Pepper. She sent a demon army and destroyed Fiery Sun City, but they failed to find Fiery Pepper. It ran away whenever strong enemies came and counterattacked whenever they left.
Time passed, and Fiery Pepper destroyed and saved more and more humans, destroying five more farms and one other lab. At the same time, he got richer and richer. He gained over 21 million energy crystals in less than two years, not even counting all that flesh he looted from the labs; he was very satisfied with cooperating with humans.
Human civilization was also very happy. It managed to save over 150,000 humans and over 15,000 newborn babies. The results were so good that Wide Vision was promoted again, becoming the leader of all of human civilization's stations outside the wall.
Still, even though they saved a lot of people, many more remained in captivity. Therefore, the operation continued unhindered.
Time continued to pass...
