Chapter 296 - Yellow-Colored Square-Shaped Rock

"Should I feel cold?" Cedric asked in confusion; he didn't feel anything from the spell just now. His defense completely negated the attack.

"You didn't feel it?" Master Jobs asked in astonishment; he had used his full power as a divine soul stage cultivator.

"No, I didn't! OK, it's your turn!" said Cedric. He teleported behind Jobs and punched him in the back so quickly that he couldn't react at all.

Steadyhand Gloves added 100,000 points to all of Cedric's stats, including speed and agility. Now, it seemed that 100,000 was far stronger than a divine soul cultivator.

As soon as the punch hit Jobs's back, the energy was so immense that it directly blew him into a mist of blood; nothing was left at all.

"Hmm! I feel like divine soul cultivators are not even ants before me! As expected! I am super OP!" Cedric thought. He was a crazy person to begin with and was not at all burdened when he was killed for the first time.

"OK, time to leave and visit this Crown Sect!" he thought, teleporting away randomly.

"It's a shame I don't know in what direction I should go," he thought bitterly as he looked at the ocean beneath him; he was in the middle of the ocean. Fortunately for him, his teleportation was unlimited, so even if it might take long, he would eventually find it.

Space Boots, which granted him the ability to teleport, were extremely overpowered. They are among the most expensive and sought-after equipment for many pro players.

"Jobs died?" asked a man with a short white beard; he was a Great Elder of the Crown Sect, a cultivator of the multiple souls realm.

"Yes, master! His soul lamp went out a few minutes ago!" the disciple said.

Usually, a multiple souls realm cultivator wouldn't care about the life and death of a divine soul realm cultivator, but Jobs was different; he was responsible for protecting Greenbay City, the birthplace of the sect master. If he died, it meant something was going on with the city.

The soul lamp was a handy item; it could detect the life and death of anyone who placed their soul aura in it. Advanced soul lamps, like this one, could even determine the location where the cultivator died. Because of that, the Great Elder knew that Master Jobs had died while in the city.

Taking out a teleportation talisman, the Great Elder used it directly; he was unsure about the enemy on the other side, but whoever it was, it shouldn't be a void soul realm cultivator.

Void soul realm cultivators could kill without affecting a soul lamp. Of course, there were more advanced soul lamps that even void soul realm cultivators couldn't deceive, but those were only used for higher-level sect members. For Master Jobs, only a divine soul cultivator, a mid-level soul lamp like this sufficed.

The Great Elder teleported into the city and spread his divine sense; he found no trace of Master Jobs or an invader.

Just as he was getting concerned, suddenly, someone appeared. She looked like a farm girl, and there was nothing weird about her appearance.

However, aside from her ordinary looks, everything else about her was beyond unbelievable; first, she had no aura and no magic weapon yet was flying with astonishing speed; second, she had just teleported, again, with no equipment and no cultivation level.

"No! She is hiding her cultivation! Her teleportation just now was too perfect! She is a void soul cultivator!" All of the Great Elder's hair stood on end; it was the most dangerous moment he had experienced in his life.

There was no time to teleport back; the invader had likely already seen him. The Great Elder's only choice was to call the Guardian.

The Guardian was the soul transformation leader of the entire dynasty; in front of a void soul cultivator, only a soul transformation cultivator could truly kill them.

All Great Elders had direct access to the Guardian.

The situation of the dynasty and the sect was a bit strange. The dynasty was the controlling force, but in accordance with convention, it never used its power to control the sect. The Crown Sect was responsible for managing immortal affairs outside the South Apple Continent, while the dynasty controlled the mainland of the South Apple Continent itself.

The highest cultivator of the dynasty was the Guardian, who was in the realm of soul transformation, while the highest cultivator of the sect was the sect master, a peak void soul cultivator.

He connected with the Guardian using his direct line, saying, "Lord, there is an emergency! There is an enemy void soul cultivator in Greenbay City!"

"Void soul cultivator?" the man beside him asked with a doubtful voice; his skin was black, his eyes were dark blue, and his mustache was brown.

"Guardian! I am saved!" the Great Elder sighed with relief.

"This girl is not a void soul cultivator! There is something strange about her as if she is wearing a mask; I don't think this is her real appearance; unfortunately, I cannot see her true form," said the Guardian.

The Great Elder was astonished; even the Guardian could not see through her.

He asked, "What should we do, Lord Guardian?"

"Of course, we should skin her to see what's under it!" the Guardian smiled and snapped his fingers.

"Hmm?" Cedric frowned; just now, he was suddenly teleported without his consent.

Stroking his mustache, the Guardian said, "You are quite reckless! How dare you run around unscrupulously as if no one can stop you?" He shook his head. When the Great Elder said it was a void soul cultivator, he came immediately; he wasn't dumb enough to send divine soul cultivators first. Once someone does something, they should not allow the opponent to escape.

"What did you do to my teleportation ability?" Cedric frowned; he felt his teleport ability was greatly limited; now, he could not teleport more than 10 miles.

"I wrapped the local space around itself; unless you pierce the space, you cannot run away!" said the Guardian.

The best way to catch void soul cultivators was to sever their surrounding space from the world completely; it was very difficult, but soul transformation cultivators could do it. Of course, there were other ways to kill void soul cultivators, but this was his favorite.

"OK! Take my punch!" Cedric used the Space Boots to teleport directly in front of the annoying man and punched him!

The Guardian saw as the punch was slowly approaching; he thought, "Strange! The punch is easily at the level of multiple souls realm, yet I feel no aura from her!" He shook his head as he waited for the punch to arrive.

Finally, the punch hit his chest and stopped; there was no bang.

He just absorbed all the damage.

"It turns out that I am not invincible!" Cedric laughed; now, his only hope was his defense, massive HP, and extremely terrifying recovery ability.

"What is under your skin? Show your true face," the Guardian said, extending his hand and catching Cedric's head.

Cedric was completely unable to move; the space around him was completely wrapped, not even large enough for him to blink.

"Hmm?" the Guardian looked at Cedric wide-eyed.

Just now, he was trying to rip apart her body to see what was under it, but astonishingly, he completely failed. It was as if he were trying to scratch a diamond with his fingernails.

"What are you?" the Guardian quickly teleported back to make some distance.

Cedric, however, could not hear or answer; the space was still wrapped around him. Even though the Guardian could not break his passive defense, Cedric's strength was not enough to escape.

The Guardian realized it and smiled.

He thought, "High defense, low offense! What is this 'thing'?" He doubted that what he saw was even human.

Scratching his head, he started casting spell after spell, trying to damage the 'thing' in front of him; he used space, time, soul, and elemental, but none worked; not even a scratch appeared on the 'thing'.

Of course, the 'thing' had a female human body, which was naked at this point, but for someone like the Guardian, who had lived for millions of years, these things were absolutely nothing.

"I really cannot damage it!" He was absolutely astonished; even peak soul transformation cultivators couldn't defend against all that firepower.

"I should take it and seal it for now! If I research it, I may be able to discover its secrets!" he thought, then started acting.

He immediately took out many formation materials and then built a complicated sealing formation. After only a few hours, the formation was complete.

"Activate!" the Guardian shouted.

Formation glue covered the 'thing', and after a few minutes, only a yellow-colored square-shaped rock remained; the thing was in the middle of that rock.

The rock was immune to all attacks below the peak of soul transformation, both from outside and inside; basically, that 'thing' with that level of firepower had no chance.

After this, the Guardian snapped his fingers, directly wiping the memory of the Great Elder and everyone else who knew and saw anything about it; then, he appointed someone else as guardian of Greenbay and left along with the big rock.
