Chapter 292 - Inheritance

He dug and dug but found nothing at all; it was all soil, nothing more.

"Master said the treasure is where the red flower grows up. Does that mean this soil is the treasure?" Mike began deciphering and thinking deeply about the exact words his master used.

"The treasure is where the red flower grows up… the treasure is… where the red flower grows up… Does that mean the location where the red flower grows up is the treasured area? Maybe a secret realm? How do I enter it?" he thought.

"'Where the red flower grows up'… the red flower grows here, right? But wait, the flower that grew here was not actually red; it was colorless. Maybe…" Mike thought deeply and decided to take a risk.

He carefully cut the colorless flower and looked at it; it was beautiful but like pure glass, colorless. He flew up and started flying around with the flower in hand, looking at it carefully for any sign.

617 days later…

Mike went through the entire island step by step, and finally, after 617 days, he stopped. The colorless flower in his hand, which was okay even though it had been cut over a year ago, started to change. Traces of red appeared on its petals, and after just over a minute, it entirely turned red.

Landing on the ground, Mike looked around. This area was quite barren, but there was soil, so planting a flower here should be no problem. Carefully planting the flower, Mike watched as it grew at a speed visible to the naked eye. Suddenly, the entire island shook, and everything disappeared.

Mike looked around; he saw what he expected: a big door in front of him, but it was locked.

The door was made of dark iron. It was big, at least ten meters tall and five meters wide. It was surrounded by darkness, practically floating in the air with nothing around it.

Seeing this, he recalled what his master had said: "When you see the thing, splash my blood on it; that would give you access."

Taking out a vial of blood, Mike opened it; this blood was drawn from his master's arm. Moving forward, he gritted his teeth and splashed the blood on the door. He hated doing this; after all, this was his master's blood, but it was the order his master gave, so he had no choice.

The door didn't react at first, but then it began shining with red light; with a squeak, it opened.

The other side wasn't visible; it was covered in red fog.

Very slowly, Mike walked in.

There are many different treasure vaults worldwide, but according to Jack's design, they are only accessible to protagonists or those connected to protagonists.

This inheritance, called the Blood Sea Inheritance, was left behind by the master Blood Sea. She was a rank 9 cultivator who later discovered a complete law related to blood and left an inheritance for her future successors before she left the world. Of course, this is the story Jack wrote; in fact, he just set up the inheritance himself.

The Blood Sea Inheritance was the closest inheritance in this area. Jack chose it not because he especially liked the Blood Sea Inheritance but because there were no other choices.

The inheritance was quite good; it contained the true meaning of blood dao and scattered meanings of soul dao, fire dao, and luck dao.

This is a low-level world, and the inheritance was left by a rank 10 immortal, so the 'true' meaning of blood dao could only help the inheritor reach the Master realm. As for soul dao, fire dao, and luck dao, they may barely be enough to help get the inheritor to the quasi-master realm.

Still, the master realm is a very big deal; sure, Jack has quite a few supreme grandmaster realms, but he is extremely limited in using them. Having someone who has master-level expertise is super useful.

Aside from masteries, there are other things contained in the inheritance, too. For example, there is the magic weapon Blood Mountain, which can supply a continuous volume of many different types of blood, or Blood Lighter, which can burn the blood of other creatures even when it is running in their body.

There are thousands of blood-related spell talismans, an uncountable number of energy crystals, books related to blood, but also other daos and topics, and even a few blood puppets.

Jack wants two things: first is a pill called Blood Life; this treasure is made of the purest blood essence. The user of this pill will be granted a talent called 'One Drop of Blood.' As long as one drop of their blood remains, they can resurrect completely in a short time; this spell can mostly guarantee one's survival.

The next thing Jack wants is the strongest of those blood puppets. The puppet, called Baby Vampire, which has Perfection realm firepower. Controlling a Perfection realm puppet is impossible for the current Jack, but Mike, as the inheritor, can gain control of it easily. Once he does, Jack's security, at least on this continent, can be guaranteed.

This is the inheritance of a rank 10 immortal, so one should not be surprised that many overpowered items are contained within; master Blood Sea didn't want her inheritor to be preyed upon immediately after getting out. A powerful puppet was a good choice to give at least a fighting chance to her inheritor.

Mike looked at the pure red he saw all around him; it was so red that his eyes hurt. Fortunately, after a few minutes, the light adjusted, so he could finally see around.

It was a corridor with doors on both sides. The sky, the ground, and the walls were red. The walls, however, weren't red; they were black, although still shining with red light.

On each door was written a word; Mike could recognize words like 'books', 'puppets', 'energy stones', etc.

Seeing these, he recalled Jack's words.

"Once you have access, open the treasure before other doors," he recalled his master's words.

Moving slowly, he reached out to the 'treasure' door and pushed it open.

Once in, he looked around; there were all kinds of strange treasures around, most looking terrifying, each much more powerful than any treasure he had ever seen.

His master said, "Look for a ring that is different from the others." It was vague, but it was all he had, so Mike started looking around.

After a while, he stopped and looked at a certain ring shining with golden light; this one was extremely unusual because most things here shone with red light.

Slowly taking the ring, Mike frowned; he felt a connection with it when he put it on. Most treasures need to go through a ceremony to recognize their master, but this ring was weird, as if it was waiting for him.

It was a spatial ring; the space inside was millions of times bigger than the other spatial ring he had. What's more, its quality was much higher.

Spatial rings have two kinds of limits: the first is how much space they have, and the second is the maximum level of magic treasure that could be placed in them. Mike's personal spatial ring could hold up to the divine soul realm.

To carry the treasures Master Stormy gave, he also had another one that could carry up to void soul realm treasures, but this one wasn't his; he had to return it later.

Feeling the golden magic ring, it could carry even Perfection realm treasures!

"So good!" Mike was astonished at the level of the treasure; the inheritance so far was far beyond his imagination.

Now, with the spatial ring, Mike walked around and threw everything in the ring; all kinds of treasures, no matter how scary-looking, were briefly appraised and then sent to the ring. Soon, the room became empty.

Master Blood Sea designed this inheritance for her rightful inheritor, so there was no secret room; everything was out in the open, with no trickery involved. It would be weird for Master Bloodsea to go through all of this only to conceal the treasures in the end, causing her inheritor to miss them.

Looking at the other doors, Mike chose 'Energy Stone'; he went in and was greeted by mountain after mountain of highly concentrated pieces of energy stones. They were all of the best quality and neatly packed, making picking them up easy.

Even with his speed as a nascent soul cultivator, it took him over three months to pick all of them up; fortunately, the golden ring had unimaginably vast space, so they all fitted inside without issue.

Going out, this time, he went to the 'Enlightenment Room'.

Three small lights were floating in the air; one was shining with golden light, another with orange, and the last with hazy purple light. Aside from the small lights, there was also one big red light moving around slower, but still, it was the most eye-catching.

Jack recalled his master's words: "When you see floating lights, open your mouth."

As a good subordinate, Mike complied with his master and opened his mouth wide. As if there was an invisible suction force, all the lights were drawn to his mouth; they entered his mouth and disappeared.

Immediately after swallowing them, Mike fell to the ground, unconscious.

Opening his eyes, Mike looked around; his eyes shone brilliantly. It was like he was an old immortal who knew the world's truth.

"Blood dao master, soul dao, luck dao, and fire dao quasi master." He sighed; this inheritance is simply priceless.

Returning to the corridor, he went to the 'Books' room and completely emptied it.

He went one by one and finally reached the 'Puppets' room; his master had instructed him to visit this room last.

Opening the door, he saw five enormous and one small puppet. The five enormous ones were in the shape of monsters.

One was in the shape of a dragon, another was like a weird-looking bird, another was like a sea monster Mike couldn't recognize, and so on.

Those weren't his targets; he cared most about the smaller one; he just threw the monster puppets in the ring, then looked at the small human-like puppet. It looked like a teenager with unrecognizable gender; its eyes were open and full of life, as if it was a real person.

Doing as his master instructed, he drew a little blood and poured it on the puppet's skin.

The puppet came alive; turning its head, it said, "Master!"

Mike recalled his master and said, "Take us out of here!"

The puppet said, "Yes, Master!"

Immediately after, Mike appeared outside; the puppet in the Perfection realm had teleported them directly out of the inheritance.

"Is anyone looking at us?" Mike asked.

The puppet pointed in a direction and said, "Yes, Master; one female cultivator in the Soul Transformation realm is observing us from afar."

Mike turned to the direction the puppet pointed to and said, "Hello, Master Stormy!"
