World wars in hell occur every 2,000 years; when they happen, 99% of the mortals in each hell must be transferred to the war arena.
1% would remain in their local hells to reproduce and recover the population.
The war arena is a vast land, the biggest single piece of land; it has mountains, volcanoes, rivers, oceans, etc. Normally, nobody lives in the war arena; when world wars start, mortals are transported to it, and the war arena becomes 'enriched' by their blood.
There are different settings. Sometimes, the war is species-based, meaning elves are transferred to the elf camp, humans to the human camp, etc. Other times, it is based on location, such as West Hell to West Hell camp, etc. Sometimes, it is a free-for-all, meaning 55th West Hell has its own camp, etc. At other times, it is random matching, meaning 55th West Hell might be matched with 12 North Hell, etc.
They always balance things out so one side wouldn't have a clear advantage.
In world wars, immortals can bet on the winner and get rich. World war betting is a hot market among them.
The war would end if:
If 99% of the participants die.
If Only one faction or force remains.
If a mortal manages to gain rank 10 power during the contest.
If the immortals vote to end the battle prematurely.
The more survivors, the fewer the rewards. The reward amounts are set, so there would be a much higher chance of getting better rewards if only 1% of the initial population remains, compared to, for example, 5%.
There are conditions that war cannot end:
If more than 30% of the initial population lives.
If less than 1 year from the start of the war passes.
If there is a bet by immortals that has not yet been concluded,
If immortals vote to continue the battle.
For immortals, world wars are a lot of fun. For example, if a mortal manages to break through rank 10 power, immortals can still vote to continue the battle if they wish to. They won't do it, though, because the rank 10 mortal would crush everyone else, and the battle would no longer be fun.
The war arena is a big formation equipped with a lot of surveillance equipment; immortals can watch battles in real-time with the best quality.
True hell is actually heaven for evil immortals. As long as they don't disobey Zagronan, they can keep living a good life.
In addition to the world war, there is also the immortal war, but it is only held every 1 million years.
The World War was a favorite of Zagronan; he watched them with great interest. Nowadays, he feels they are boring.
In total, there are 1000 hells of each direction. 1000 West Hells, 1000 East Hells, 1000 North Hells, and 1000 South Hells; all of them are combined to make a floor of hell.
55th West Hell, for example, is located on the first floor of hell.
In total, True Hell has a total of 1000 floors. All of the floors are connected to the central area, which is where Zagronan resides and the place where the dark elements are produced.
In addition to all of that, there are also specialized hells; for example, Fire Hell, Ice Hell, etc.
Zagronan is also planning on making hell basements; in his opinion, his true hell world is too small.
A rank 12 world can be far more vast than just this; it's just that Zagronan has not had enough time to create more than this. Now, less than 1% of the capacity of his rank 12 universal law is utilized.
Besides the basement, he plans on creating some chaotic hells, too.
The current hells are orderly, operating like clockwork; Zagronan's taste now is order and not chaos. But it doesn't hurt to sometimes watch chaotic battles, too. As a demon, Zagronan also has his chaotic side, which enjoys disorder.
Lately, as a result of years of obeying Rachel, his taste has shifted more and more toward order, but he still kept his edge.
Years ago, his edge was blunted, and with the help of Rachel, now, he mostly lost his chaotic side, but deep down, it is still there.
Honestly, even now, Zagronan misses his edges from time to time. Sometimes, he would miss his youth when, even though he was weak, would go on and massacre cities and continents for no reason.
...
"It was fun!" he thought. Lately, he has been getting nostalgic about the past.
"Everything was better back then! Now, I can't get true satisfaction!" Zagronan sighed deeply; he felt his life had become stale.
Looking at the war arena, which was packed with uncountable mortals, Zagronan was not really excited. It had become repetitive; he felt it was boring.
"Zag, what do you want from the universe? I have given you a universal law, helped you to create your true hell, and now, you are one of the strongest demons throughout the universe, yet you are still unsatisfied," said Rachel.
"I don't know! I thought creating True Hell might fill the hole in my heart, but now, it seems, it did not; what I want … is chaos, its destruction! I have suppressed these desires and pretended to like order, but those are not me! I am a demon; I need to destroy!" He said earnestly.
"Zag, these issues are not unique to you! Many lose themselves when they live for so long! Do not lose yourself! Destruction would bring you no good; chaos is the worst thing for the universe and the creation!" she said.
Shaking his head, Zagronan said, "Let's start this latest round of world war!"
He entered the central database and looked through the data.
"What? 55th West Hell didn't send anyone? Isn't that the hell I gave the idiot wood elf, Bertha?" The red light of his pupil shone brightly; all mortals below, who were in the war arena, felt a chill in their hearts; some even fainted.
"Strange! I said to My incarnation in her hand that she must send 10 trillion," Rachel said.
"Hey Rachel, let me kill them all! My heart will be calmer if I kill them!" Zagronan said while licking his lips. He felt he would get some relief if he killed them. As a demon, he hates those who are moral, so killing Bertha and the human man beside her would be very satisfying.
"What do you mean? They are your fellow hosts! The regional headquarters absolutely prohibits infighting! Don't even think about it!" Rachel said. Generally, Rachel's hosts were allowed to kill each other, but that was before; now, Rachel wants to preserve energy, so hosts are no longer allowed to fight each other.
"So many laws, so many restrictions! I am a demon! I am not made to follow the law!" Zagronan said, frustrated. Still, as always, he didn't dare to disobey Rachel, so he just sighed and put the matter aside.
"What should I do? They disobeyed not only my order but also your order! There should be some consequences!" Zagronan said.
"Let me talk to my incarnation!" Rachel called her incarnation in Bertha's hand.
"Hey, Me! How are things?" asked Zag's Rachel.
"I'm frustrated! Bertha is just too kind! You should have heard that she refused to send anyone?" said Bertha's Rachel.
"Yeah … Zag is angry! What is she going to do?" asked Zag's Rachel.
"She would not send anyone and decided to protect the mortals at all costs!" Bertha's Rachel Incarnation said.
"That's not good! That would cause infighting!" said Zag's Rachel.
"Yeah! Among our hosts, there are few ones who are genuinely good! Let's keep Bertha and see how she ends up!" said Bertha's Rachel.
"Sure!" said Zag's Rachel, then disconnected the call.
"Can I go and get the mortals myself?" asked Zag.
"Nope! Who cares about 10 trillion mortals? Just look down! There are almost a decillion mortals down there! Those are enough!" said Rachel.
"But they broke my law! Didn't you like lawfulness? How is it that when others break the law, you don't care?" Zag said angrily.
"Zag, be careful when you talk to me! You are becoming disrespectful! I gave you the universal law, and I can take it away! As I said, no infighting! Let them be!" Zag's Rachel said.
Gritting his teeth, Zagronan endured it and did nothing else. Snapping his fingers, he signaled the start of the war.
...
During this world war, there were 70 big tent camps and 966 specific camps.
Big tent camps are large groupings; some examples include the youth big tent camp, which includes all people below a certain age; the men's big tent camp, which includes only men; the women's big tent camp, which includes only women; and behavioral camps, like Lazy big tent camp and Envious big tent camp, etc.
One can be a member of many big tent camps. What big tent camp one be assigned to is not up to them; they will be placed according to how the system judges their character.
For example, a Mage female lazy elf will be assigned to the Female big tent camp, the Elf big tent camp, the Mage big tent camp, and the Lazy big tent camp.
The specific camps are geographical and are war camps. In what specific camp one will be assigned to depends on one's luck; they will be camped into equal-sized groups depending on where in the war arena they were landed.
One can be a member of one specific camp. At least one Specific camp must be eliminated each month.
That means the maximum length of this round of world wars is 967 months.
One can communicate with others through big tent camp functions; each big tent camp has specific powers, which they can use only once during the duration of the battle. For example, the Lazy Big Tent Camp has the power to skip twelve months of battle. However, those powers cannot be utilized individually; instead, they can only be activated if a majority of all members vote for them.
This system of battle has been designed to increase complexity and entertainment for the observers.
Throughout the wars, there would be many rewards that would appear in places. The camps which get them would be able to get stronger.
Specific camps cannot form alliances in this world war; there have been other world wars in which teaming was allowed, but not this time.
The most important factor in determining whether one can die or get stronger is luck, but other things matter, too.
If one is smart, they quickly try to gain influence in their big tent camps, so they have a say over when the specific abilities activate; that could have a big impact.
Communication in the big camp forums is completely anonymous; one has alternative identities there, but one can reveal their identity if they do it intentionally.
With Zagronan's snap, light curtains appeared and separated each specific camp; they would remain there for a month, allowing the specific camps to choose their leaders and get ready. After one month, the curtains would disappear, and the war begins.
