Chapter 110 - Chaos Creature

Zagronan is working for both Rachel and Anti-Rachel.

Honestly, the name Anti-Rachel is a joke. It's a relic of the past that nobody bothered to change.

Anti-Rachel has already received permission from 'the market' and changed the oath. The oath is now a broader pledge of allegiance and no longer a pact against Rachel.

In fact, Anti-Rachel has a treaty with Rachel.

Rachel herself has a task center where she completes tasks for money. Anti-Rachel also has a task center.

Both Anti-Rachel and Rachel combined their task centers and now take turns. Due to Anti-Rachel's greater visibility, Rachel is the one who profites more.

The task center will eventually become defunct.

Around 20% of the universe is members of Anti-Rachel, but eventually, everyone will become a member.

At that time, the task center will be internal, with Anti-Rachel doing tasks for its members for money. As for Rachel, she will not have any business left.

...

Zagronan looked at the integrated list of tasks.

"Hmm? I miss a bit of destruction! Let's take this task!" he chose one with a smile.

'Task: clear the new herd of Chaos creatures, reward: 190,000 contribution points'.

Rank 10 tasks give between 10 to 999 contribution points.

Rank 11 tasks give 1000 to 99,999 contribution points.

Rank 12 and 13 tasks give 100,000 to unlimited contribution points.

The task Zagronan took is an easy rank 12 task.

He thinks he can do it because he has a rank 12 body.

If there were any rank 12 Chaos creatures, the contribution reward would have been at least in the trillions.

Taking down a rank 12 Chaos creature is risky, even to weaker rank 12 mages.

So, this task is beyond rank 11, mainly because there are many rank 11 chaos monsters; there won't be any rank 12.

Zagronan has a rank 12 body, more than 10 million complete laws, and an infinite complete law.

Rank 11s are ants in front of him. He fears only rank 12 and above.

This task has only rank 11s, so he is confident about it.

"Yeah, take it," Rachel nodded.

She is not worried about his mental condition anymore. Zagronan is now stable; his addiction to slaughter and destruction was completely cured nearly a billion years ago.

He registered his name and exited the portal.

...

What is chaos? It's energy with negative and positive charge simultaneously; It is unpredictable, and unusable in its unrefined form.

To use chaos energy, one must first refine it into other forms, like mana and universal energy.

Rank 10 mages refine it in their bodies and use it as their mana, and refiner worlds separate negative and positive charges to create usable universal energy.

However, some can use chaos as is – Chaos creatures.

These creatures consume chaos as food, discover chaotic complete laws, and, in very rare cases, universal laws!

They are unintelligent and have phantom forms.

They used to be the nightmares of endless space. Nowadays, though, most have been destroyed. They appear still sometimes, but only below rank 11s.

Rank 12 chaos creatures have mostly been killed, and new ones take a long time to appear, even on a universal scale.

The few living rank 12s and the tiny number of rank 13 chaos creatures all have their territory and are in a faraway space nobody cares about.

...

Zagronan reached his destination and slapped!

The chaotic energy was pushed away, creating a void.

He just killed a rank 11 chaos creature!

Another chaotic creature, one with seven phantom ears and a massive size appeared and cast a spell.

Phantoms get weaker the bigger they are.

Therefore, chaotic creatures are nearly powerless physically. Their spells, though, are hard to defend against.

The seven-phantom-eared chaos creature attacked with a massive fireball.

"Hmm," Zagronan failed to find a spell he had that could efficiently defend against this chaotic fireball.

He now feels that the 190,000 contribution points aren't enough. The attack just now could kill nearly all rank 11s.

However, in Zagronan's eyes, the spell moved at a snail's pace.

This chaos spell moved in all charges of reality, negative and positive, in all charges of time, and all charges of space.

It can be defended against by compound spells that cover time, space, and reality in both charges and all ranges.

Or ...

Zagronan waved his hand, and endless illusions emerged. It covered the incoming spell and sealed it in illusions.

Trying to seal such a chaotic spell with illusions would have a terrifying expenditure, but with a rank 12 body, Zagronan's output of infinite illusions is more terrifying.

With another wave of his hand, endless illusions covered the seven-eared chaos monster and also sealed it. Again, sealing a chaotic creature would cost a lot, but Zagronan could afford it.

"Roar!" A loud radiation surged.

Chaotic creatures have phantom forms, so their Roars will be radiation. Just this wave of radiation could have destroyed most rank 11 worlds.

"What? The 190,000 contribution reward is really a scam! No wonder no one took the task before me!" Zagronan complained and decided to file a complaint when he returned.

The roar just now came from a chaotic creature with at least a billion complete laws!

Zagronan looked and sighed.

It had a thousand heads and ten thousand hands, with nearly a trillion complete laws.

Any other rank 11 would have been terrified.

Zagronan, however, waved his hand. Endless illusions came out and surrounded the monster.

Its presence was in all charges of time, reality, and space; sealing such a creature in illusions is an impossible task for rank 11s.

Not for Zag.

Endless illusions covered it and sealed it.

It was unable to resist at all.

"It took 1% of my output!" he was surprised.

As a rank 12 body, his output is no joke.

"Roar!" Another chaos monster appeared exactly like the last one but with even slightly more complete laws.

"What's going on? There is something wrong with this task!" he felt startled. This is far beyond only a 190,000 contribution reward.

Before he could think of more, a few more roars came, all from chaos monsters around the same level.

"Hey, Zag, something is wrong! There shouldn't be this many!" Rachel also felt the problem.

Finally, a much stronger roar came. "ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR"

It was so strong that it killed all other chaos creatures. Even Zagronan felt pain from all over his body!

"Rank 12?" he felt terrified. Then, he calmed down.

He would be dead by now if it were a rank 12 roar.

It must be rank 11 with an unimaginable number of complete laws.

A rank 12 body is nearly impossible to be harmed by rank 11.

But, if the quantity is big enough, they still can do it. A rank 12 body is not an actual rank 12.

A rank 12 with a universal law can destroy any, and I repeat, any rank 11, no matter how many complete laws they have. A universal law can overrule an unlimited number of complete laws.

They are not on the same level.

Trying to fight a universal law using complete laws is like putting down a fire with gas.

Universal laws can break down complete laws and use them as fuel; the difference between early rank 12 and peak rank 11 is far bigger than a worm and peak rank 11.

However, a rank 12 body cannot overrule anything without a universal law; after all, a rank 12 body only means that the body is ready to carry a universal law; it's not rank 12.

The monster, so huge that Zagronan failed to see its entire phantom body, cast a spell.

"Chaos Freeze," Zagronan recognized the spell.

A chilling energy that was unimaginably hot covered his whole body.

It began to freeze and burn his body at the same time.

He released all his illusion output but failed even to move a bit. He bulged the muscles of his rank 12 body but only barely broke the spell.

Still, he broke the spell. "ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR,"

The monster screamed in pain. Even monsters feel it when their spell gets broken.

Zagronan started running.

In the presence of so much chaos, running using space spells is impossible, so physical running is the only way.

The monster cast another spell.

"Time stop?" Zagronan thought of this unwillingly and stopped.

He barely broke through Freeze, and Time Stop is his weakness.

The monster sealed him in all charges of time.

He cannot even think.

At this point, he can only wait for death.

Zagronan has a rank 12 body and infinite illusion complete law, but, he is still rank 11.

The chaos monster has more than a quintillion complete laws; who knows how long it took to collect that much.

Even a rank 12 body cannot resist that many complete laws combined with its weird, chaotic spells.

As for infinite complete law, it's still one single complete law.

It would have been able to seal the monster if Zagronan's output hadn't been so limited.

The creature began to get closer, looking at its prey.

"Really!" a man with a blurred face came out.

He is nobody but Luther, main Rachel's host.

Of course, he is only a weak clone. But, weakness is relative.

Compared to the real Luther, he is weak; compared to others, however …

He rolled his eyes and snapped.

The massive monster, along with all of its chaotic laws, disappeared.

Luther is the strongest in the world.

Even one of his weak clones is stronger than most rank 13s.

Even a weak rank 12 can destroy monsters like this with a glance.

Actually, the task was fine; it was not meant for rank 11s.

Rank 12s can destroy such monsters, and whether they have one or a sextillion complete laws would not make a difference.

It's the other way around.

The more complete laws the monster has, the happier the rank 12 that took the task would be, because they can turn the complete laws into fuel.

Most likely, the task paid so little because the monsters' chaotic complete laws were considered part of the payment.

...

Zagronan returned.

He has no idea what happened or who saved him, but he doesn't care now.

He just wants to punch the one who placed that task there.

It was clearly much more than only 190,000!

He opened the "Contact Us" portal and started complaining.

"Mr. Zagronan?" the man who answered said.

"Task no. F339(8)5 is rated wrong! There were so many rank 11 chaos creatures with trillions of complete laws, and another one with…" he explained.

The man nodded and said,

"That task was for rank 12s, so you can't be upset at us, Mr. Zagronan."

The man had devices that could detect the truth, so he didn't doubt the authenticity of Zagronan's words.

Zagronan was allowed to take tasks because he had a rank 12 body.

"Hey, I nearly died! You can't do this ..." Zagronan continued fighting with the man.

In the end, the man reported the matter to higher-ups, and they ultimately gave Zagronan 1,000,000 more contribution points as compensation.

They usually will not do such a thing, but Zagronan is famous around here; most believe he will eventually reach rank 12.

So, they gave contribution points to satisfy him.

Zagronan 'forgave them'.

1,190,000 is nowhere near enough for a task that endangers his life, but he knows this is the maximum he can get.

He disconnected with dissatisfaction and sighed.

"Let's go but a few stuff," Zagronan said.

Rachel nodded.

Shopping is Zagronan's new favorite activity.
