Chapter 1 - The source of all evil

It was a cold rainy day in the city of Massechutes. The streets were crowded with students running back and forth trying to get to classes before being completely soaked. In the normal chaos stood Chris surprising unaffected by the cold rain. He let himself be pushed over by students as he stood in the middle of the street with his head down. He's expression blank his mind constantly thinking about a particular scene he discovered an hour ago.

Chris Evans was a 2nd year student in MIT he worked 2-part time jobs just to be able to barely afford keeping himself afloat. He has been an orphan all his life and has always relied on himself for all his needs, he knew from a young age that the world was a cruel place and the only person he could ever rely on was himself. He was always a loner never establishing any worthwhile connections during his days at school he never made the effort to ever really reach out to others and most people always ignored him, he never stood out despite his attractive appearance, Tall, well-shaped body with light brown hair and dark eyes that seemed to hold a matureness that was strange for his age and his good grades always scoring top of the class. There was a sort an invisible wall blocking off Chris to others making hard to approach and the way he carried himself al It ways made him seem as though he had low self-esteem, he kept his hair long covering half his face and wore faded clothes he received from the donations from the orphanage, making his presence small purposely blending in with the background. Thus Chris spent his years never noticed but that was his plan anyway. All he cared about was computers, he spent his childhood glued to the only old computer at the study room of the orphanage and worked extremely hard to achieve his dream of getting a scholarship to MIT and finally being able to drag himself out of the poverty he was born into.

His wish of being accepted to MIT came to fruition a year ago and he received a partial scholarship that didn't include all his expenses hence he had to work 2-part time jobs, working as a food delivery man as well as a waiter at a café near campus. It seemed that he never had a moment to relax with classes, assignments and shifts taking up all hours of his day but he never complained he knew it would all be worth it. It was during his 2nd semester of his 1st year while he was working at the café that he met Silvia Jones. She was a beautiful red hair and green eyed girl with a gentle disposition. She had come with her roommate in search of a less crowed area where they could complete their homework. He remembers that day as vivid as though it had happened yesterday. Their eyes met for the 1st time and in a small soft voice she ordered a large cappuccino with a chocolate muffin and the first time in his 19 years he felt his heart beat quicken and emotions he never once felt before eclipse him. He was a pragmatic person so he would never agree to having what others may deem as love at 1st sight, no he didn't believe in that fairy-tale nonsense. However, he had to admit that he felt extremely attracted to this girl and it greatly surprised him as he had never been one to ever establish any kind of connections whether knowingly or unknowingly. It took him a minute to centre himself and take down her and friends order before giving her one last glance then heading to the kitchen to work on the coffee. What he didn't realize was that Silvia was equally captivated by him. She was able to get a glimpse of his strong jaw line, perfectly shaped eyebrows and soul stirring eyes that he hid under his hair. She blushed when she thought about how intense his stare was which didn't go unnoticed by her roommate and best friend Susie.

-Silva what's with the red face all of a sudden, don't tell me you've got the hots for waiter boy over there.

Her already red face became a shade redder almost matching her fiery hair.

-Susie don't say that I just met him and he's right there keep your voice down he might hear you

-alright alright she said as she laughed

Not long after Chris came with their drinks and food and politely excused himself he took a look at the girl internally debating whether he should speak to her or not. He never encountered such a situation although he wasn't feeling flustered or shy but he felt confused with his sudden attraction and was at a loss as to whether he should pursue it or not. Deciding otherwise he shook his head and went back to his work station. It was better for him to try and figure it out first before jumping the gun and coming to regret it later. Besides he liked being alone, he doesn't think he could ever find it within himself to accommodate someone in his life.

-          Maybe I'm thinking too much I just met her let alone I haven't even shared a single conversation with her.

An hour quickly passed and the 2 girls came over to pay the bill, after handing over the receipt her friend stopped and said

    - Hi do you mind exchanging contact details with my friend here?

He hesitated a brief moment before agreeing, why not.

And thus it began. Chris and Silvia through numerous back and forth texts realized just how much in common they had. She too was an orphan and was later taken in by her aunt who was relatively poor, she was a programming genius and was able to get full scholarship to MIT which greatly reduced the financial burden of their 2-person household. They completely hit it off and after 3 months of talking and meeting up on campus and at the café he worked in he finally made her his girlfriend and for almost 2 years they were inseparable. She was the light of his life, for the 1st time he was able to rely on someone other than himself. He had never been happier. Until it all came crashing down.

Silvia had always been timid so he never tried to push her into an overly physical relationship. He was content with holding hands and sweet pecks. He had made up his mind he would marry her once he got a good paying job so he wasn't in a hurry to get her all the way. It was a tactic understanding between the two and wasn't something they needed to discuss they just understood each other like that. Or so he thought.

One Saturday of his 2nd semester of his 2nd year he got off early for his shift at the café and decided to go to the nearby pizza place to order Silvia's favourite pizza before surprising her at her dorm room. When he arrived at the door he hears shuffling, moans and groaning coming from the other side. Silvia didn't have a roommate so he figured perhaps she was watching a movie, not wanting to disturb her he gently opened the door with the pizza box in hand and a smile on his face. What he saw next made the smile on his face freeze and he dropped the pizza box in shock. Silvia was naked bouncing up and down on a familiar looking man on the couch in front of the TV. They were both so engrossed in their activity that they didn't hear him come in. He stood there frozen on the spot, trying to wrap his mind on what his sweet, innocent girlfriend of 2 years was doing. He felt as though he was dreaming unable to process what was happening. He stood there for a few seconds until the man suddenly stood up with his girlfriend in his arms, he placed her on the sofa with her legs on his shoulders. He looked up for a brief moment only to catch a brief glance at Chris who stood like a statue. The session came to an abrupt end when the man suddenly shouted

-Hey man! What are doing here. What the hell! Don't tell me you're some kind of peeking pervert.

This woke Chris up and Silvia turned around only to find Chris behind her.
