It was Thursday morning, and Lucy had just arrived at the hospital.
After parking her car in the garage, she checked her face once again on the mirror of her car before stepping down from it.
As she was heading towards the entrance of the hospital, a familiar voice called her from behind, and immediately she stopped and turned around to be sure her ears weren't tricking her.
To her greatest surprise, when she turned, she realized that her ears weren't really playing tricks on her; just as she had expected, it was Jerry calling her.
Once she saw him, her face beamed with a smile, and immediately she started walking towards him.
"Good morning, Jerry. I thought I would never see you again," Lucy said to Jerry while beaming with a smile, but Jerry kept staring at her with an angry face.
"Well, that's why I visited you because after today you might not see me again, or you might see me but you can't approach," Jerry informed Lucy with a smirk on his face, and immediately the smile on Lucy's face disappeared.
"This is for you," Jerry said to her while handing her an envelope.
"What is this?" Lucy inquired with a surprised look.
"Why don't you open it and see?" Jerry said to Lucy with a smirk on his face.
Without hesitating, Lucy tore the envelope, brought out the document inside, and started reading it.
Once she finished reading it, her mouth dropped in awe. She kept staring at Jerry surprisedly, like a ghost. She tried talking, but no word came out of her mouth.
Seeing her reaction, Jerry busted into a round of laughter. He laughed until tears started dropping from his eyes.
After laughing to his satisfaction, he turned his gaze towards Lucy and shook his head in disbelief.
"Didn't I tell you that after today you won't see me again or you won't be able to approach me again?" Jerry inquired with a smirk on his face, but Lucy remained silent while staring at him.
"It seems that you didn't understand what was written on the document; the distance that is separating us is not up to ten meters, and you can get arrested because of that," Jerry said to Lucy with a smirk on his face, but she remained silent.
"Don't worry, I will walk away because from today on, the distance that separates the both of us must be ten meters unless you get arrested, and I don't want that, so I will always do my best not to approach you, and I hope you do so too because if you get arrested, I can't help you." Jerry said this to Lucy before bursting into another round of laughter.
After laughing to his satisfaction, Jerry entered his car and zoomed off.
Lucy stood there staring at Jerry's car until it was out of sight; she just couldn't believe what just happened.
Jerry just got an appeal in court; he accused her of assault and was therefore restricted from getting near him.
She must never approach him; she must always stand ten meters away from him or risk getting arrested for assault.
After staring in the air for some minutes, she got back to her senses, and immediately she angrily tore the document she was holding into pieces and started walking angrily towards the entrance of the hospital.
It has been a hectic day for Catherine. Throughout the whole day, she has been working on the bunch of files sent to her by Daniel.
As she was working on the files, her phone started ringing, and immediately she brought the phone out of her handbag. She saw that it was Chris calling, and she reluctantly picked it up.
"Good evening, Catherine, How are you?" Chris inquired from the other end.
"Good evening, Chris. I'm fine. Do you want us to deliver more textiles to your restaurant?" Catherine asked over the phone.
"Come on, Catherine, if I wanted more textiles, I would have contacted the secretary, not you. I called you because I wanted to speak with you." Chris informed her from the other end.
"OK, if not, I was very busy before you called, but I can grant you some minutes, so I'm all ears," Catherine informed Chris across the phone.
"Well, I wasn't planning to take much of your time; I only wanted to ask you if it's possible to offer you a ride home when you are done at the office." Chris informed Catherine.
"Well, you don't need to, but if you insist, no problem then," Catherine replied to him.
"OK, see you in the evening then," Chris said to Catherine across the phone.
"See you," Catherine said before hanging up the call.
It was already six o'clock, and Jerry and Boris were outside discussing, unlike other days when they would be teasing each other like Tom and Jerry.
As they were discussing, a car with tinted glass stopped beside the company.
Once the car stopped, Chris put the glass down and waved at Jerry, who waved at him in return.
As he was still parking, Jerry thought that maybe he wanted to see him, but as he was about to walk towards him, Catherine walked past him and headed towards Chris' car.
Once she approached the car, Chris came down and opened the door for her, and once she got in, Chris waved at Jerry, who was staring at them in surprise, before entering the car and zooming off.
"Bro, what just happened?" Boris asked Jerry in surprise, but he remained silent.
"Since when did another man start picking up your girlfriend from work right in front of you?" Boris asked Jerry while fuming in anger.
"Bro, we are no longer together; she broke up with me some weeks ago." Jerry informed Boris with a dejected tone.
"What!" Boris asked in surprise. "Why did she break up with you?" Boris inquired with an inquisitive tone.
"It's a long story, bro," Jerry replied to Boris.
"Well, I'm not going anywhere, so I'm listening," Boris said to Jerry.
Knowing Boris well, Jerry knew that he wasn't going to give up until he got every detail of what happened, so he had no other choice but to explain everything to him.
After explaining everything, Boris looked at him and shook his head in disbelief.
"Jerry, when we were at the university, what issues usually made the both of us quarrel?" Boris asked Jerry with an angry stare.
"I'm always trying to solve every problem on my own without asking you for help," Jerry replied while avoiding Boris' gaze.
"And how did it always end?" Boris inquired angrily.
After hesitating for some seconds, Jerry replied.
"Badly," Jerry replied, and Boris nodded in agreement.
"Once again, you have repeated the same mistake, and I'm not helping you this time around," Boris informed Jerry angrily.
"Bro, please, I'm gradually losing Catherine; if you have any solutions, please tell me," Jerry pleaded.
"Well, I have a solution, but under one condition," Boris informed Jerry with a smirk on his face.
"What is your condition?" Jerry inquired.
"No paperwork until the end of this month," Boris informed him with a smirk on his face.
"Never, and who is going to do all the paperwork?" Jerry asked Boris angrily.
"Well, no problem; suit yourself," Boris said to Jerry, and he started heading towards the entrance of the company.
"Wait." The voice of Jerry sounded from behind, and immediately Boris stopped and smiled.
"I accept your condition," Jerry said to Boris, and immediately he turned.
"Well, you would have accepted since, but since you didn't accept at first, you have to beg me unless I go back," Boris said to Jerry with a smirk on his face, and Jerry shook his head in disbelief.
"Boris, please, I need your help." Jerry spoke to Boris with a defeated tone.
With that statement, Boris smiled, approached Jerry, and explained everything to him.
Once Boris explained everything to him, Jerry screamed in excitement and hugged Boris, but immediately Boris pushed him away.
"What is your problem? Bro, do you want people to think I'm gay?"Boris inquired angrily.
"Come on, bro, you just found a solution to my problem; you are a genius. Go and take your things; let us go get a drink; all bills are on me," Jerry informed Boris happily, and he smiled.
"That's why I like you, bro; let me go get my stuff." Boris said this to Jerry and started heading towards the entrance of the company.
