The Ding Family refused to join forces with the Du Family, even though Old Master Du was willing to give the other party 30% of the Du Family shares.
They still refused.
The reason was simple.
In a three-against-one scenario, the Ding Family would almost suffer no losses and would be able to divide up 30% of the Du Family benefits.
In a two-against-two, the Ding Family estimated they would suffer heavy losses, and it was just for a 30% stake.
Only a fool would choose to cooperate with the Du Family.
So, the Du Family had almost only one path to follow.
And that was to abandon Du Bin.
