"I'm finished eating," Purple Summers stood up, completely ignoring Violet Nelson's livid face, and smiled faintly as she glanced over everyone at the table, "Why is everyone looking so solemn? You should be happy, at least Edward Carter is saving you money, isn't he? Hiring a top lawyer is very expensive."
After finishing her speech, as if amused by her own unique humor, she cheerfully returned to her room alone.
The dining table was enveloped in silence.
People didn't know whether to be shocked or angry.
Shock, there definitely was, because the whole affair was out of the ordinary.
Anger, there was at first, because they felt Edward Carter's refusal of the lawyer they had selected, Rieste, was ungrateful, but now... it seemed there was no ground for anger anymore. After all, this was a matter for the Carter Family. Whether they wanted a top lawyer or a junior lawyer, the Simonson Family had no right to interfere.
But why Purple Summers? Why did it have to be her?
