Where is Purple Summers?
Caitlin Carter almost thought she had come to the wrong ward, but the small label hanging at the foot of the bed had Purple Summers' name on it. There was no way she could have made a mistake.
Had she gone to the bathroom?
The private ward came with an en suite bathroom, so there was no need to go outside to use the toilet.
Caitlin asked a nurse where the patient from the ward had gone, but the nurse, too busy to keep her feet on the ground, had no idea.
Just then another nurse passed by in a hurry, overheard their conversation, and interjected, "I saw that girl leave just a moment ago. She seemed in a great hurry, and she didn't respond when I called out to her twice."
Caitlin was stunned.
...Purple Summers left? Without a word, just like that?
The old lady's face had turned an ashen hue, and with a heavy huff, she turned and left.
