The third-grade teachers cared most about how many students would get into key schools. For someone like Purple Summers, they would turn a blind eye, merely reminding her to stay humble, eager to learn, and not to get too self-satisfied over minor achievements…
The teacher meant well for Purple, seeing her potential and worrying that she might become arrogant after getting into the preparatory institute.
Still, such a lecture was somewhat embarrassing. With people coming and going in the office, other teachers who saw Purple couldn't help but give her a more surprised look.
When Purple came out of the office, she saw Jane McCain and Zara Jameson waiting for her outside with expressions full of concern and curiosity.
Of course, they were curious. It was the first time they had seen Purple being scolded.
"Did the teacher say anything?" Zara asked.
Purple smiled awkwardly, "Well, she told me to catch up with my homework and hand it in as soon as possible."
