Yolanda Summers had already roughly learned about the situation from Laura Summers.
With a pale face, she rushed downstairs. Upon seeing Mrs. Fowler, she quickly began to explain, "Mrs. Fowler, is there perhaps a misunderstanding? I've been a bit sick with a cold these past few days and feared infecting the guests, so I didn't come downstairs today..."
Laura Summers also chimed in, "Exactly, how could my sister possibly elope with someone? Sheldon Fowler did call her a few times inviting her out, but she rejected him every time."
"Impossible!" Mrs. Fowler stared at Yolanda Summers with a grim expression, speaking with conviction, "My son wouldn't lie to me! He told me himself that you called him, asking him to meet up!"
Yolanda Summers took out her mobile phone to show Mrs. Fowler, "Mrs. Fowler, I really haven't called Sheldon Fowler recently!"
