Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: That Night, You Were the One Who Took the Initiative

The anger in her heart surged.

If it weren't for him sleeping with her, she wouldn't have been so persistent in asking him to take responsibility! And now he's insulting her over and over again. Did he really think she's like a hellokitty?

Eve Thompson could no longer control her anger, and she retorted sarcastically, "Mr. Charlie, you might have gotten it wrong."

Anthony Charlie was stunned.

He saw the girl's clear black and white eyes, burning with two tiny flames, as she said word by word, "That night, you were the one who took the initiative."

Anthony's pupils shrank, and a murderous intent instantly rose in his eyes!

She even dared to bring up that night...

It was obviously her who pleased his grandmother, and schemed her way onto his bed!

Before he could do anything, a "ding" sounded, and the elevator doors automatically opened on the first floor.

Outside, the receptionist was holding some documents, apparently planning to go upstairs. Seeing the people in the elevator, she widened her eyes in fear and respectfully called out, "Mr. Charlie."

With that interruption, Eve Thompson quickly bent down and dashed out of the elevator, not looking back as she ran out!!

Anthony Charlie: ...!

Eve Thompson jogged all the way out of the Charlie Building, not stopping until she was a full kilometer away. She patted her chest.

Anthony's expression just now was simply terrifying, as if he wanted to devour her...

Thinking back now, she regretted not holding back and snapping back at him.

It wouldn't have hurt her to be scolded by him when he was in a bad mood.

But now, after relishing a moment of verbal triumph, how could she convince him to agree to an engagement with her?!

-

Penthouse office.

Anthony Charlie's face was extremely ugly, and the entire office was filled with low pressure.

When the Investment Department manager came in, he shivered involuntarily when he saw Anthony's face. He stood respectfully in front of Anthony and carefully called out, "Mr. Charlie."

Anthony Charlie looked up, his cold, ink-black eyes slowly speaking, "Where's the contract?"

The Investment Department manager was taken aback: "What contract?"

Anthony Charlie impatiently loosened his tie, extremely frustrated, "The contract with the Thompson family!"

He wanted to see what price the Thompson family had set for that night!

The Investment Department manager was startled: "Mr. Charlie, there's no contract, or rather, Miss Thompson didn't sign the contract!"

Anthony Charlie's black eyes rarely showed confusion, "What?"

No contract signed?

Wasn't all her efforts from last night to today for this contract?

The Investment Department manager was terrified.

First, the old lady called, and now Mr. Charlie personally inquired... He hadn't signed a contract with Miss Thompson and hadn't sent out the money. Was this negligence on his part?

He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and explained, "It's not that we couldn't do it. Our proposed terms were very favorable, and it was clear that we were giving away money. We had no demands on the Thompson family, but Miss Thompson verbally rejected us! And she said that if Mr. Thompson came to discuss cooperation with us, we shouldn't consider it for her sake. She also said..."

Anthony Charlie clenched his jaw. Only then did he realize that perhaps the call from his grandmother was not instigated by her? Otherwise, why would she refuse?

Somehow, his anger had dissipated.

His mind flashed back to the elevator today when he deliberately approached her, her blushing cheeks, and her subsequent angry expression like an about-to-explode kitten...

So, had he misunderstood her?
