Eve Thompson knew that her request was a bit unreasonable.
But with Adrienne Dixon suddenly transferring hospitals, she felt uneasy.
So she made that statement.
Joey Thompson seemed a bit surprised, and apparently didn't understand why she would care so much about Adrienne Dixon. He lowered his gaze, and after a moment, he spoke, "It's not very convenient."
After saying that, he didn't add anything more but just stroked his glasses frame. It seemed like he thought of something, as a light flickered in his eyes. The dejected mood he had felt from being played by Eve Thompson vanished without a trace.
He regained his usual mild and insincere demeanor, "Let's wait for a chance in the future."
Eve Thompson couldn't be too hard on him, so she could only nod, "Okay."
The two of them got into their cars and drove off.
Eve Thompson drove her sports car, watching the receding taillights of Joey Thompson's car, a shadow passing over her eyes.
