Eve Thompson remained motionless.
Jack Pack couldn't help pointing at her, scolding, "If it weren't for the surprise I wanted to give you, bringing the server back home, would you still be in the ruins, planning to bury yourself there too?"
He arrived in the middle of the night that day.
After arriving, he called her, trying to surprise her.
The call went through, but no one ever picked up. So, Jack Pack simply hacked into her phone, found the address, and went there.
When he got there and saw the blackened ruins, he was a bit panicked, thinking his computer skills might have regressed.
Later, in the ruins, he found her lying on the ground, with eyes wide open staring at something in front of her.
She was buried in the soil, injured, and looked like she was in so much pain that death might have been preferable. The sight startled him.
Looking back now, Jack Pack still feels the shock.
