The Bentley sedan smoothly drove out of the sanatorium.
Faith Williams was driving, with Eve Thompson and Anthony Charlie sitting in the back seat, remaining silent and creating an awkward atmosphere inside the car.
Eve felt that this silence could not continue, so she was the first to speak up:
"Um..."
"You..."
Unexpectedly, at the moment she spoke, Anthony also began to talk, so the two of them stopped simultaneously, waiting for the other to speak first. And so, the car once again became quiet.
After a while, Anthony finally spoke, his eyes twinkling with light, his words somewhat ambiguous in the dark night: "Sister Thompson, you go first."
Eve Thompson: ...
How could he call her "Sister Thompson" so smoothly? And why did it sound somewhat sarcastic?
Could it be that he thought she was using the old lady to get close to him again?
