The next day, at 6 a.m.
Emma Tonkin woke up with a splitting headache. She was dazed for a good while, only to find herself lying in her own bedroom. She frowned and was about to sit up when a slightly hoarse voice came over: "Mom, you're awake."
Only then did Emma notice her daughter, Eve Thompson, sitting by the bed. Eve's face looked a bit unwell, and she clearly hadn't slept all night. What happened? Emma remembered she had drunk wine with Jonas Thompson that contained a lot of sleeping pills. She instinctively asked, "Where's Jonas Thompson?"
Eve replied, "He got drunk, and was picked up by Ava White at midnight last night."
Drunk...how was that possible?
After quite a while, Emma finally understood something, and she looked straight at Eve, "It was you… when did you find out?"
