Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Overnight Disappearance~

The mistress's illegitimate daughter?

Eve Thompson looked at the faces of her classmates, full of contempt and disgust. Her heart tightened, and she suddenly felt sorry for her sister.

Due to certain reasons, she seldom returned to the country, but she video-called and sent voice messages to her sister every day.

She knew her sister was insecure and unpopular in school. Apart from Freya Morrison, she had no other friends.

Originally, she thought it was due to her birthmark, but now it seemed that Lana Thompson was the main reason! She had falsely accused her sister and isolated her in school, making her go through such a repressive time in the most beautiful and carefree years of her life!

Eve Thompson clenched her fists, and her eyes turned cold.

Perhaps her sister's running away from home was guided by fate, meant for her to take her sister's place and reclaim what was owed to her sister!

She spent two periods enduring the gossip of others. After finally getting out of class, Eve was thinking about how to clear her sister's name when someone bumped into her.

Lana Thompson suddenly spoke: "Iris."

The surrounding students were already paying attention to them, and when Lana Thompson opened her mouth, they instantly looked over.

Eve glanced up and saw Lana Thompson standing next to her.

Lana wore brand-new clothes, held her head high, and looked like a lady of fortune, while Iris Thompson's closet was always filled with old clothes.

The contrast was striking, with one elegant and the other timid.

Lana Thompson, full of superiority, said: "I heard that you have not returned home for two nights now."

As soon as she said this, the way the surrounding students looked at Eve instantly changed.

"Didn't go home at night? What did she do?"

"What else could she do? Her mother is someone's mistress, so how good can her daughter be?"

"…"

Eve still kept her head down, her hair covering her expression. At this moment, her eyes narrowed, and a cold smile formed at the corner of her mouth.

Lana Thompson really spared no effort in discrediting her sister! Did she think she would be like her sister, enduring everything silently?

Lana Thompson pretended to sigh: "Iris, I know your life is tough, but as a girl, you should have some self-respect."

She took a bank card from her bag and handed it to Eve: "If you really need money, use this for now. I'll ask my father to increase your living expenses. Don't do those shady jobs outside."

Self-respect, shady...

These two words made people associate them with many unpleasant things.

The gazes of the surrounding students towards Eve worsened, treating her as if she were a plague, frowning and staying away.

A smug look flashed in Lana Thompson's eyes.

Her mother told her that if it weren't for Iris meddling, her father would have divorced the old witch by now! So, when she saw this ugly woman, she couldn't help but throw in a few sarcastic remarks.

According to their usual encounter, the pathetic pride of this ugly freak would kick in, and she would mumble, "No need," then run away.

Lana Thompson was looking forward to it because her favorite thing was watching Iris Thompson's embarrassed expression.

So what if she was Miss Thompson? Her life was not even as good as an illegitimate daughter's!

Eve stared at the bank card in front of her. It was a supplementary card that could easily have several hundred thousand dollars swiped from it.

Jonas Thompson, using the excuse of poor company profits, had not given her and her mother a dime in recent years, but he was generous to this illegitimate daughter.

And now, did Lana Thompson actually use the Tonkin family's money to mock her?

If so, how could she let her have her way?
