Coco Edwards paid special attention to the term "little demon" and turned to glance at Jane Sampson.
"It's nothing," James Black said dismissively, ready to move past the subject, "Next time I see Alexander Forest, I'll deal with him. He's just utterly boring all day long."
"Alexander Forest is quite wronged," Jane tapped her head, "It's my fault for drinking too much that day and forgetting about it. When I saw Alexander Forest at the clubhouse, I asked him about the text message. Alexander said it wasn't from him; he's not that bored. I thought about telling you right then, but drinking leads to trouble. If you hadn't mentioned it today, I would have completely forgotten about this incident."
Jane continued, "Alexander Forest said he loves to tease, but he wouldn't send a message that could affect a friend's marriage. I also think that although Alexander sometimes likes to joke, he probably isn't the kind of person to cross the line."
