Jane Sampson was cleaning up the bowls and chopsticks in the kitchen, while James Black stood beside the dining table looking at the tea eggs left behind after Peter Gingery took two-thirds of them, clicked his tongue, and entered the kitchen.
"Thomas Lancaster and Yvette Quick have returned to the country, they've arranged for everyone to gather tomorrow evening," James Black said, standing behind Jane Sampson.
