James Black answered the phone rather swiftly, immediately thinking that something must have happened to Jane Sampson, or that there might have been some changes to her recent schedule, which was why Rock Bell was specially calling to inform him.
"Are you free to talk now?" Rock Bell wasn't quite sure about the nature of James's work in the guard team because the matter she wanted to discuss would take a considerable amount of time. Therefore, before speaking, she specifically asked if James had enough time to listen.
"Go ahead," said James.
Over the phone, Rock Bell could hear what sounded like the closing of a folder. After hearing James's response, she slowly said, "You know your wife went for an audition today, right?"
