"Brother Sampton, what wind blew you from paradise haven to my place? Just a few days ago, I was thinking about how unbearably hot it was and considered visiting you for two days," Old Master Black said as he approached Grandpa Sampton and playfully punched him on the shoulder. "Let's go inside."
"Grandpa," Jane Sampton called out sweetly from behind.
"Ah, I see, I see. And there's Bright Sampton, that youngster; I haven't seen him in some time," Old Master Black said with a grin wide enough to stick his tongue through, gesturing at Bright Sampton, who had just stepped out of the driver's seat. "The lad is becoming more handsome by the day, almost catching up to my younger days."
Bright Sampton twitched the corner of his mouth. Old Master Black had always maintained an image of a stubborn old imp, with a particularly serious disposition in Bright's mind. Hearing Old Master Black joke so cheerfully all of a sudden nearly gave him indigestion.
