One could say that the arrangement was meticulously thoughtful.
James Black looked at the big, black head that suddenly popped up in front of him, blocking his view. The corners of his mouth twitched almost imperceptibly, a hint of helplessness in how he pushed Jane Sampson's head to the side.
The head was pushed aside, but a little hand reached out a moment later to turn the page of the book he was holding.
"Wow!"
James hadn't seen the content of the book yet, but he first heard Jane's surprised exclamation, her tone unable to hide her envy.
Only then did James lower his gaze to scan the page she had flipped to.
With one look, James scoffed, "What are you 'wowing' at?"
The whole page was filled with models wearing extremely sexy bikinis.
Being a woman herself, James didn't understand what Jane was so wowed about.
