James Black remained indifferent, casting a glance at Julie Sampton, he nodded his head slightly, not even bothering to utter a sound of acknowledgment.
It was only when she heard Julie's voice that Jane Sampson peered through the gap and noticed among the crowd ahead that one was Charlotte Miller and the other was Julie Sampton.
Just at this time, as luck would have it, the elevator reached the first floor. Charlotte and Julie exited with the rest of the crowd, and James, with swift hands, pressed the close button. He didn't even spare a glance to Julie who was still outside, wanting to talk to him, and continued to hug Jane as they took the elevator down to the underground parking garage.
When the elevator reached basement Level 1, Jane was led out by James, who was still embracing her. She straightened her hood and asked in a low voice, "Did you see them just now?"
